Has your cancer spread to other parts of your body? Bones, lymph nodes etc. My husband was diagnosed in Nov. 2015 with Seq. non small cell lung cancer has spread to his bones and lymph. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what is the best treatment? He did 9 rounds of radiation and has done 3 weeks chemo, off 1 week and will now do 3 more weeks.0December 2015

Hi LiveWithCancer. I have not been on much lately, have been really busy and just cannot seem to find the time. I have felt good so going and doing more and having less time for the computer. Just wanted to update you on my status with Opdivo. I was on it for 17 months and it kept my tumor at bay however this last cat scan showed growth in the tumor and some growth in my lymph nodes so I should have an appt scheduled soon to go back to Tennessee Oncology and see what else they have in clinical trials. Dr. Spigel had told me when Opdivo ran it's course that he had other treatments in mind. Please keep me in your prayers as I know prayers work. Two years ago was doom and gloom and I am still here and have led a pretty active life these last two years. I actually still feel great. Hope you are still doing great and enjoying your life, I do come on now and again and try to follow what is going on with you. You gave me lots of hope. Thank you so much for your posts.0December 2015

Again?0September 2015 -
Walgreens called me in and said they had the generic Librax. I went there, and they said they didn't have it in the state Walgreen system-try Costco.
I've been going to Costco. The price is much cheaper for what they carry. This comes in only one size. I need 3 a day or I get diarherria and cramps. The mucus lining of my stomach actually comes out when I drink water and can plug up a hospital toilet.
This morning I realized that I will be out of thyroid. I called the doctor's office, sent a message on my medical chart. I just called Costco. Costco already filled my thyroid-the doctor's office called in a new prescription for Armour, but they haven't heard about my Librax generic. Costco has sent 2 requests for it this morning.
Costco has the med in stock, and they are holding it for me.
Please pray0October 2015 -
Thanks for your response. We did the clinical trial pills for the 3% aggressive cancer and one of the side effects is tumors. Well she now has a tumor in addition to the colon liver lymph node in her left lung. Thursday is the big day of the reading of the ct scan. It's either going to be the chemo is working or there's nothing else I can do. Thank you for you and everybody's response. Dwigbt0October 2015

Hi livingwithcancer..how are you..how did your trip to dc go...we certainly need more funding to find cures for these cancers..it's been quite a while since Nixon declared war on cancer..I just hope in my time people don't just go into remissions but real cures are found..0September 2015

In response to your question on religion and cancer. I can only give you my answer on my faith and cancer.. I was 62 when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer... They did the surgery, removing a 39 pound tumor...(not a typo..39) Then he scraped cancer off my intestines and my urethra.... and placed a port under my skin on one of my ribs. When I asked how long I had.... he answered "SIX MONTHS. That was February 23 2006. I had six twenty-eight day cycles of chemo. Day 1... I/V; days 2 and 8 I/P using the port under my skin... to place the chemo within my peritoneal cavity. We complete all six cycles just prior to Thanksgiving.. I went back to see my Gynecologic Oncologist Surgeon in January... He wanted me to do more chemo... once a month for 12 months..... I did it. I had asked God to take my hand when I figured out what they were looking for... ie Cancer... I asked Him to lead me to where He wanted me to be. Here I am 72 years older, 3 grandchildren more, 4 great grand children... I know he still holds my hand and is still leading me.... Bless you and know that I have had several PET Ct Scans and they have all shown... No Evidence of Cancer.... May God bless you.0August 2015

Originally, my immunotherapy drug was Merck, not sure of the name. The new immunotherapy they are putting me on is what you are taking, opdivo. Originally, I was told surgery was not an option, I suppose because it had metastasized. But, once they got those other tumors under control, like you, referred to as scar tissue, it did become an option since the lungs were where things were changing. The original plan was going to be watchful waiting with scans every 6 weeks, but because of the joint issues which might have been a result of coming off immunotherapy coupled with some other minor changes they put me back on. Well we will seehow it goes. You know I'll be saying a prayer for you today for your scans. Keep strong and God bless.0August 2015
