for what it is worth, I have tried to document what I have gone through with my aggressive prostrate cancer for the last 10 years. It many give you some one on one info from someone who has been there and is still bouncing along. My very best to your spouse and what mgm48 says, 'Keep a positive attitude, you will last longer and be happy all the way!!!!!!!!!!"

I can't explain how it happens but I too have no prostate, was at PSA >0.01 and it came back. None of my oncologists have been able to explain it either, but they tell me I'm far from alone. I read what others had told you and won't regurgitate, but I want you to know that there is absolutely no reason to panic! The scans will tell the oncologist where it has started to grow (metastasized) and the first line of defense is a relatively simple hormone therapy using Zoladex or Lupron to shut off the testosterone. This often works for many years and has relatively easy to live with side effects. You can check out some of my posts from a while back but ED and hot flashes were/are my major effects. If and when that stops working there are several drugs and procedures that follow. And just maybe in a few years the drug that I'm on for my clinical trial will be an even better alternative. Feel free to contact me, I've become somewhat of an amateur expert as I navigate my way a fair bit ahead of you and your dad.

Keep it positive and smile :)

You might also look at the summary of my case in the question from the other day about how do you survive prostate cancer.

Remember don't panic!! My oncologist told me that I'd probably die of something other than PC!

Keep it positive and smile :)

    Hi BLBragg,
Just curious about your husband's original diagnosis and his treatment. My husband was diagnosed Feb. last yr stage IV with mets to lymph nodes. He went through radiation and chemo, first pet scan came back clear and then three months later it has spread to his brain. Would like to hear your experience. It always help to hear a positive story. My husband is doing good after WBR and more chemo. We do believe in the power of prayer and know the Lord will see us through this. Thanks for listening.
