Hi. I am hoping you can help me. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had his prostate removed 15 years ago. Recently (past 4-6 months) his PSA has gone from 8.5 to 12. Have you heard of this? How can his prostate rise when he doesn't have one?? Frustrating..."

Here's hoping your numbers continue to go the right way. If not the hormone therapy really isn't all that bad after the first couple of doses nearly all the side effects go away. No more hot flashes, etc.

Thank you for words of encouragement. That is exactly what I needed. I have to get past the disappointment of the test result and move forward. I was not prepared for this given what the pathologist said post-surgery, but I am finding the treatment of this disease and how it responds is something of an in-exact science. The surgeon that did the RP said “this is a very squirrely disease” the first time I met him. That has turned out to be a very accurate description.

Thanks for the comeback. Went to the Urologist today and now I am more confused the ever. I had almost made up my mind on Proton until I talked to him. I like and have confidence in him so I am giving proton therapy a second look.
