I read your post about having mastectomy and then a year later you had another one. That's exactly what happened to me but my doctor refused to take both of mine at the same time. I was so furious with him a year later when I was diagnosed with a different type of BC. I am so sorry that you had to go thru it twice, I know how you feel about that. It is 2 times the recovery and all the pain and it makes your emotions just that much more on edge. I pray that all is going good for you now. In 15 days it will be a year since the last surgery. I feel good most of the time but there are still times my left arm will hurt really bad. They had to take out 15 nodes and 13 was cancerous. I was stage IIIB the first time and stage 1B the second time. Thank God I didn't have to have any treatments the last time. All the treatments from the 1st time was bad enough.

I am going to have my port removed this Friday so please pray that all goes good. God bless.

I am so sorry you have been through so much, but I know from where you are coming. I started with the doctor telling me I could have a lumpectomy until he read the mammogram and found a spot the radiologist missed. Sent me for and MRI and two clusters were found in the left breast. I chose a BL mastectomy after hearing that news because I didn't want to go through it again. The left breast was negative and the sentinel node was clean. I chose DIEP flap reconstruction which didn't take to well so I had implants put in. Four surgeries later I was finally done. I am glad that you got a second opinion, but sorry you had to go through all those surgeries. It's no fun that's for sure, but I am glad you are done now. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
