I had a lot of "survivor" t-shirts. In my recovery period, being mostly during the most intense part of COVID life, I was able to wear a lot of casual clothes, t-shirts, pink leggings, pink everything. I always loved pink even before my BC diagnosis, but in the words of Shelby from Steel Magnolias, pink was "my signature color."
What gave me the most confidence was being able to come to WhatNext and discuss things with other survivors, other "soldiers" in the midst of the battle. I always knew I was not alone. I watched how others dealt with their diagnoses and tried to emulate the behaviors and attitudes of those who showed confidence and knowledge.0
