Lynn--How are you doing? Have wondered what you have been up to. Did you know I'm six years out from my second diagnosis now? Still feeling lots of neuropathy from TCH chemo, but I have had the extreme pleasure of loving my first grandchild for 18 months now! Funny how the pain and hassle of chemo faded when I first saw Oliver's face!

lynn1950, thank you! Yes, "cancer's dynamic duo" - I love those images! - is dancing in my brain. I'll remember those word images and think of them in times of trouble. Hugs, Carol

Thank you for the information about HBOT. I am with St Luke's. Most of my teeth have broken off and are just spikes. Infection is now my most pressing worry. My Dr. has prescribed a medicated mouthwash. My PCP is working to try to get me into the Idaho State Dental College clinic. But I don't know if they had a Dental Surgeon degree.

Just saw your comment today about working during chemo. Also, saw that you correspond with Ydnar2xer. We've become good friends thru this site. Had our DIEP reconstruction a day apart and now her sister had it yesterday. This site has been such a tremendous support for me! Are you still teaching?

Jeeze, Lynn--good to see you online again! How is your son's recovery going? I have finished all chemo and will start recon preliminaries in early October; surgery scheduled for November 6. Have you reconsidered recon? Let's catch up!

Hi Lynn an Merry Christmas to you as well! Yeah, I can't believe I'm almost at the end of chemo finally! Am having a lot of nueropathy, brown and sore fingernails and no eyebrows. Also, my TCH days nearly run me over like a John Deere Harvester, but I only have one more of those, thank dog Bought some eyebrow stencils (temp tattoos) which I will try tomorrow if my hands are steady enough. great to hear from you. Any decision yet on reconstruction "of the North"? I probably will be going through it this summer, altho my younger son will be getting married, as well. Will have to work around that.

    Hi Lynn,

I believe I have figured something out about your account. You have never gotten emails have you?

If that is the case it is because you never confirmed your email address when you first signed up. Your score indicates that you haven't confirmed it.

We have a solution though, and should be ready this week.

Appreciate you sharing your experience with Armour . I feel like sleeping all the time and have been depressed. People that have no idea what is wrong can be very rude. I am happy that you have found something that works to balance your T4 and T3.

Lynn you are very lucky to have a job that you love & that supported you thru your treatment. I knew from day one I would not work thru treatment. The stress would not have helped not to mention the exposure to germs! I do have many more years of working & really need o decide my next step. My little guy Luke just turned four & I wouldn't mind enjoying his last year before school too. I keep thinking maybe when he starts preschool I'll go back to school too. Just need to stop thinking so much & let myself heal!! Thanks again for the help.

Yeah I think I need to discuss it further with the Dr. The day I saw him was not a good one for me so he recommended I think about it & let him know in January. I don't think I'll have an answer then either, maybe more questions! Thank you for the advice though. It helps to hear from others & know I'm not alone ( or crazy ).

Yes I have been reading up & trying to look at risk versus benefit for me. I go back & forth questioning myself. My cancer was not estrogen responsive so I also question why it's recommended.

Hi Lynn! Wanted to let you know I am hanging in there & that Tuesday I will be 1/2 way through the ickiest part of my tch chemo. I am hoping the second half goes faster; maybe with the holidays in between, it will.

How are you doing? Haven't seen many posts from you lately--? (Must be busy with school?)

    Hi Lynn,

I saw that your son was in a horrible accident - I'm so sorry. Your son and family are in my prayers.

Gosh, Lynn--so saddened to hear about your son! One of our sons flipped his car several years ago; I know how awful it is to have your child hurting. Please know that I am sending positive thoughts your way for his good recovery and that you may have strength during this difficult time.

Yes, I've already met with Dr. Paige. He specializes in DIEP and really seems to know his stuff. My breast surgeon says she has heard of Dr. P as being "a very good doctor."

Lynn--my recon will be DIEP from Dr. Paige, head of PS at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. Wouldn't it be funny if we coordinated our surgeries so we could meet there? I guess it's 3-5 day stay for the first part of the procedure...but I am also considering a little lipo beforehand as well! We'll come out of all of this, looking like Barbie Dolls, LOL!

Hi Lynn: Wanted to give you an update of my progress through chemo. Tomorrow is my third treatment and the completion of 1 cycle out of 6. Am pleased it's gone so well so far.

Friday I started to get some side effects, though. A bloody nose and cancer sores in my mouth. Also--ZITS on my chest...welcome to junior high all over again! Other than that, though, felt really good this week (week w/o carboplatin, which I call carbocraptin)--not too tired and actually pretty much able to live like I usually do.

How are you doing with your reconstruction decision? Oh, and are you teaching this year? I am taking this semester off before I decide whether to return to tutoring.

Take care & keep in touch. ydnar2xer

Hiya Lynn: Yes, Bremerton is across Puget Sound from Seattle. Seattleites think we're a hick town but most of us can get to work in 15 minutes, enjoy beautiful beaches very nearby and actually afford to buy a house! Shhhhhh. Let's keep that our secret!
