I read your answer about symptoms, and then checking your wall, I was amazed to read about you LauraM! We are close in age--I'm 55. We have the exact same cancer and stage. You wrote you are at high risk for ovarian and breast cancer, and so am I. PLUS, my real first name (not used as my name on "What Next") and initial is also Laura M. !!! Too many coincidences, don't you think? I totally sympathize about getting cancer besides doing all the "right things". I had been also getting regular screening tests for years, and then got disgusted, and stopped for a couple years; the end of which my ovarian cancer was diagonosed. So, I have been wondering if I could have avoided my cancer. But reading your experience made me feel better that maybe I could not have avoided it anyway. But, I am sorry that you got cancer besides being so good. And I hope to "talk" more to another Laura M. -- sending love and smiles

Hi Laura and welcome to WhatNext. We're here to help if you need/want it and answer any questions you may have from the perspective of a cancer survivor. My own ovarian cancer was stage IV when I was diagnosed almost a year ago and my scans are all now clear of cancer -- so we can win this battle. I'm pulling for you and am happy to share any of my experiences if it would help.

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian-tube-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Sorry you had such a rough journey so far.Interested in why you are in a clinical trial so early in your diagnosis.Did regular chemo regime fail you? Did you have IP therapy?I am 68 and was diagnosed IIIC last Sept.Have now been in remission six months.Starting to get back to a somewhat normal life.Have grown back my hair,it is now very curly.I do not believe any of us go back to a totally normal life, and we tend to have a greater appreciation of life.I was retired when cancer came calling but feel good and know I could have returned to a job at least three months ago.Everyone is different though and some have lingering side effects from the chemo. Please ask any questions you may have and help others by answering questions.Keep sharing your experiences .We have all been touched by cancer and we are all here for each other.Take care, talk anytime.
