Hi Julie. I asked the question last weekend about supplements and appreciate your response. I am working full time, live alone, have 2 dogs and 2 cats and started chemo in December 2014. Surgery is planned after 10 more weeks of chemo and then radiation. I don't have alot of extra time to do the necessary research and was so happy to learn about the supplents that the physicians at CTCA provide their patients. Thank you.

You misunderstood me. ALL I was saying that for people who can't get to go there they can also take some of the same supplements. I very glad you are doing well there and I think they do a very good job. A lot of people live too far away or are just staying local and even on their OWN there are lifestyle changes THEY can incorporate into their lives. SO....NO I didn't make myself clear and thanks for responding...Keep doing what you think is best and good luck.

I started losing my hair this weekend. I was emotional numb up until this point. Had a real emotional meltdown the day after my hair started falling out. It was not the hair but the whole thing that got to me. I think until my hair started coming out I was just not going to let it get to me. I don't even think I made a big deal out of it and instead was a big jokester about my condition. But boy did I ever have a pity party for a few hours. Did you ever have a melt down?

Sounds like you are a wonderful and determined lady!!!

    Hi jewels4julie,
Just wondering what are "cold caps". I just started chemo and losing my hair does not sound fun, but didn't know of any way to avoid it. I am just praying that it won't all fall out, but they say it most likely it will. Thanks!

Hi Julie. I saw your comment about breast density. Sounds just like me, except no one even mentioned it to me.
If you haven't checked out AreYouDense.org, you might find it really interesting. Nancy is great! She came to Mass when our bill was up for public hearing in Sept & she testified along with the other few members of our coalition.
From what you wrote, you remind me of me. An action sort of person. Check in with Nancy to see if anything is going on in MD yet for legislation. I know she has been in DC a bit working on national legislation.
Working on this has given me something positive to focus on during this whole process. I can work on it here and there, when I have energy. I'm still out if work on disability right now & it has been good for me to have something like this. Plus, the several trips into the state house, meeting with legislators and lobbying for our bill has actually been sort of fun.
Best of luck to you. Hopefully no more women will have to go through this, after thinking that she had done everything right but it just wasn't enough.
