Chris, if you wanted a second opinion my Onc. is now at City of Hope in a big research position..Dr Ravi Salgia. We are friends and you could use my name to get into him and I could discuss with him the idea of the two immunotherapies in clinical trials for you. We can talk by private email if you would like. He saved my life.0June 2016

Did tell me I could not have the other drug I've seen for uterine cancer since im not her2 positive. It's like plain old uterine cancer can get nothing! Hi Chris,
I met with a new gyn oncologist from U of Miami on Thurs and I feel like he's the man for me! He is very much into research but also does surgery and other forms of treatment as well. His pedigree is amazing.
Right off the bat he said he doesn't recommend surgery. He too feels it is too dangerous. That's two out of three, so surgery is off the table. Although the research study I was interested in has been postponed, he says we can do the same thing by getting a biopsy and having the tissue evaluated privately to see what genetics will say and what will work best for my individual tumor. I really think an individualized approach is the wave of the future.
He wants me to have a ureter stent, and I have an appointment with a urologist on Mon. He also wants to start me on two cancer drugs that are off label, but are promising for my type of cancer. The side effects of all three things are tough, and I know that I have a difficult road ahead, but the journey might be worthwhile. At least I will be doing SOMETHING. This doctor is pro-active rather than re-active. I like that. He was extremely positive about the options and the odds. I like that too! I don't think I'm in any way grasping at straws, more like expanding my horizons. Perhaps the fat lady hasn't sung yet. Cross your fingers.0January 2016 -
Hi Chris,
I heard back from Moffitt and I go in 2/2 to discuss surgery. It's scary, but may be better than doing nothing. I'll let you know about the research study when I know more. How are you doing? So, so sorry about your kitty.

Hi there Chris, Judt read one of your responses to a question which I found sorta troubling. You said that IF you had done chemo (as, I'd guess, the docs had suggested) then you might not have wound up with a cancer I suppose you now have.
Yeah, well, Im truly sorry you wind up in this pickle but I need to tell you that I you had been born with wings, you might have been a parakeet anf that if you had been born tan and with whiskers and walked on all fours, you might have roared so loudly, no one would dare suggest to you that the pickle you are in was, in much of any way, your fault.
I have beem 14 years without a cancer that was completely misdiagnosed by (literally) dozens of spposedly learned men who I had been mistaught would know better than me.
Im in San Jose Ca right now to help a friend in a pickle and one of my jobs is to show her how to eat to strengthen. We stopped at WFs last night. We spent $90 and I did not get one of the greens I really wanted but we do have breakfast and lunch for 4 of us. I let her buy preprepared soup (which I hope to retrain her to refrain from eating) and a couple of cookies. We will be making at least 2 meals each day from scratch. I need to show her how to shop online for supplements and tea and to explain that the salads we ate for lunch yesterday did not have enough fresh greens to feed a flea.
There is a whole new world of self awareness. You need to eat more produce than you have been led to believe, Remember that the RDA was invented as MiniMum requirements to prevent full blown scurvy. The general malais which comes along with developing disease was not ever addressed.
Please look into Mom Nature provided benefits from adequate food as well as Chaga mushroom extract, black seed oil (from a type of cumin), graviola (a medicine fruit), turkey tail mushrooms, AHCC (fermented mushroom) and a veritable host of other options to fight against cancer along with conventional therapies and such.
The medical community used to rail against black seed for dilly reasons when peer reviewed studies were proving humanity was better served to combine therapies. They no longer do that.
Please forgive yourself for any transgressions you believe you might have made and open your heart and your mind to infinite possibilities of survival and relearning to thrive. What you write on this website proves your worth and that you are deserving of continued life. Take chances. Live. Hugz and kind wishes for you to thrive.0January 2016 -
Thank you for your note. I am so glad I decided to talk about this - haven't the past year.
Your 3 dogs? I have 3 dogs and 3 new kittens - they all certainly have been a great reason to get out of bed.
Please stay as positive as you can - you have helped me today.0January 2016 -
