It took me about 6-8 weeks with the open surgery procedure. Of course I had a catheter for the first two weeks following surgery. If I had anything to do over it would be to do my Kegel exercises prior to surgery.

It took me 6 weeks. This part of recovery was actually pretty quick, but VERY unsettling - the release of urine with no control was crazy. But over the course of a few weeks, I was using less and less pads. I was dry every night once the catheter came out. There are Kegel Apps for smartphones - I used one of them. Happy healing.

NIce answer to Edward! Isn't it amazing that there is so much bad info out there? If I eat right, I'll stop aging....

Keep it positive and smile :)

Hi, You are right. We are in this together. My wife and I have just stated to see a therapist that we both like. For us, seeing her will be helpful on many fronts but also to reminder me that there are many people that love us and many more good people in this world. Take very good care. Tom
