    Hi DKelly,
I am also in California and was diagnosed at stage IV and I'm currently in remission for the same cancer. Please know that there is still lots of hope and life after this diagnosis. I'm happy to share any of my experiences and insights as is everyone else on this site.

Please be strong and keep a positive outlook - it will help you get through treatment. Ask lots of questions and be a good advocate for your own care. If that's more than you can manage right now, get a friend or family member to go with you to doctor's appointments and treatments to ask questions and take notes. There will be a lot of information at first and it can get overwhelming.

And please remember, I'm here if you need me. We can chat, you can vent or you can ask me anything. I'm an open book.

    Hugs!

Hi California gal,I live up in Redding in the Hot !!! ugh!i Sacramento Valley.I was blindsided by cancer late last year.I too thought I lived a basically healthy life.I am 67 and was diagnosed with IIIC ovarian cancer, similar to yours but not originating in the peritoneum. Both types of cancer are rare. Most important thing for you in the early diagnosis stage is to make sure you have a good gyn/onc.There wasn't one in Redding so we traveled to Sacramento and UC Davis for my surgery and chemo treatments. I was placed on a very mild antidepressant when diagnosed because let's face it,this kind of sucks.I am currently almost four months in remission and busily growing my hair back. This site has helped me so much. The people on this site have been where you are, they have faced the same doubts, fears, side effects and treatments you face, they are all survivors.Ask questions, interact with others, share your experiences. We are all here for each other, you are not alone on this journey.Remember,it is not going to be easy, but it is doable.Take care, talk anytime.

Hi there, I started out with endometrial cancer, got treated for that and then had a second tumor primary peritoneal. They have treated it again but I currently have multiple metastatic sites that they cannot cure. They are trying to treat it or just keep it under control is what they say. Did you have surgery and now getting chemo?
