Hi Chargerdeb, I'm so sorry you have to experience this horrible disease. Are you finish treatment? Chemo/radiation was a nightmare for me. We share same name, age and unfortunately anal cancer. I pray that you get through without the dreadful side effects. I was diagnosed 07/26/18, two days before my birthday. Please reach out if you need to vent, scream, cry or just want to talk to someone who truly understand. Deborah aka Pinkfloydroses

Hi! I found you through a search. My mom is 64 and was diagnosed last month with Ampullary cancer. She just had the Whipple yesterday and dr's didn't see any signs of cancer anywhere else although did say one of her lymph nodes was enlarged. Waiting on path results. Today's been a rough day for her - low blood pressure, nausea, dry heaving, pain. Any advice on what to expect first few days? When did your husband's chemo start after surgery?

Chargerdeb: Just wanted to know you are not alone. I just joined this site, only because I am a little overwhelmed with my inability to help. It is the worst part of being a caregiver. I am a fixer, so give me a problem and I will fix it.

My husband's diagnosis with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, hit me hard as I could not fix. I have just attempted to be there for each step for my husband, and search for answers. due to the extreme side effects and him not really feeling sick prior to chemo (and great now that no chemo in 6 weeks). He has decided to live life without chemo and illness for as long as he can.

So now we face each day, looking for the joy (while internally I still want to fix it for him).

I will keep you and your husband in my prayers...

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. Welcome to the world of pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed in mid-April of this year and have had the Whipple surgery (and issues with liver abscesses after the surgery), initial rounds of chemo, radiation/chemo combined (this was the worst for me) and am now in the final rounds of chemo (which will conclude sometime in February). Should you have any questions, I'd be happy to try to respond.

Chargerdeb, Where did your husband have the Whipple surgery? I think we live in the same general vicinity and I am due for Whipple in January.
