Hey Onoi11...sorry I missed your comment earlier. You are already 1 year into recovery. Remember that you must defy, with a passion, everything that this disease tries to do to you. You are finished with some early treatments. Keep up that energy that you still feel even after treatments. Did they say that you will definitely have surgery? When? If you ever feel down in the dumps just give me a holler...or anyone on this site that has or had pancreatic cancer. There are a lot of good ones.

Onoi11, I have been following your journey because our seems so similar. I wish and pray for your scan to be good. Thank you for all your feedback and yes, I'm not always polite to my unwelcome visitor. I visualize it packing its suitcase and I'm there to give it a swift kick in the you-know-where out the door!

Dear Ono11, I am already at MD Anderson, the country's top Cancer center and I really wouldn't know where to go for a 2nd opinion. The lung lesions are very small (blessing) and at this time too small to be biopsied. But I also have 2 lymph nodes that are swollen - not good. Cancer markers have gone up from 19 in August to 100 now. Will now be treating with more chemo. Waiting for appointment with oncologist to see which chemo and when we will begin. Last time I was in treatment (radiation and chemo (Xeloda)) I did these here in Houston. Stayed in a hotel for 2 1/2 months by myself and was only able to see my husband on the weekend. This was not good for me, away from all my friends and support system. This time I will do the treatment at home. I need to be in my familiar surroundings with the people I love. I wish you all the best in your journey.

    Onoi,
I have found that tomato juice is good for me. It's been 9 years with no re-occurrence. I know a lot of people who don't like tomato juice but with a dash of pepper and a couple of lemon slices squeezed on top help a lot. I believe acetic is good!
You are going to beat this and live to be 116!

She is Oncology & General Surgeon, her specialty is the Whipple. Eisenhower wooed her away from City of Hope. I can't say enough good things about her and her office staff. If you have time before your scheduled operation I would try to see her. Plus it makes it much easier if you are local. I can't imagine having to drive out of town for my husbands surgery.

Dr. Evelyn Kachikwu, Rancho Mirage. She is the greatest. A very skilled surgeon & a great person too. She answers every question you have and some that you don't and she is very respectful of you as a person.

Hi Onoi11 - your patient info sounds similar to my own, although I was diagnosed in April and am a bit younger than you (a mere 65!). But I also had surgery, chemo/radiation and Stage IIB. I'm currently in my final phases of chemo, so if you have any questions or if I can be of help in any way, please feel free to ask.
