Dear virg112012, just checking in to see how you are managing with your cancer as you haven't posted in awhile. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with Uterine papillary serous carcinoma and we are trying to get some idea of what the future looks like... Thanks for any info/guidance you can give!

Hi, just finding my way on this site. It's helpful. Especially your posts. I'm glad you are doing so well. It's helpful to know that someone somewhere can deal with this. Having surgery on Monday. Will get chemo and radiation. Please keep posting.

Presently I'm NED diagnosed Stage 2 Grade 3. Last chemo end of January 2014. 6 chemos, no radiation. Next scan in August. Hair could use a little trim, shaping maybe. Left with neuropathy feet and finger tips. I'm almost 74.

Hi virg, Glad to hear you show NED. my scan after chemo showed an opaque lymph node to be watched (3 months ago), my last scan in January, showed enlarged nodes, so now I am having a biopsy. I was curious to know what treatments have been successful, trying to decide if I should switch drs. Is it a recurrence within one year? Wish you the best

MD Anderson is number one in the US! We are always trying to lure oncologists from MD Anderson to UW. I am being treated according to a protocol used at MD Anderson.

I had breast cancer in 2009. When I had side effects from Letrozole last year, I was put on Tamoxifen, but started bleeding a few months later. I stopped taking it, stopped bleeding and had a pelvic ultrasound. A few months later, I started bleeding again, so I had another US. They couldn't do an endometrial biopsy because of cervical stenosis, so I had a D&C in May, which found a run-of-the-mill adenocarcinoma. I then had a DaVinci hysterectomy at the beginning of June from which the pathologists found a uterine serous papillary carcinoma in addition to the plain old adenocarcinoma.

I have never cried about either cancer, but I grew up with a lot of cancer in the family and I am being treated where I worked, among friends and familiar people. I wasn't shocked or frightened, and I have some background to understand my disease and its treatment. I'm also a pretty stoical person, which is how I continue to care for my husband at home.

For my uterine cancer conference, I took along the son who lives nearby. My husband has vascular dementia and it wouldn't have worked to involve him in conferences. The breast cancer team recorded the conference and gave me the tape, but gynecological oncology at SCCA/UWMC does things differently.
