Hi Summeresque - Love your sign on....I was 62 when DX with Stage IV Epithelial Ovarian Cancer.... It hit me right between the eyes like a baseball bat. Really hard. Then, I realized if not now when. I turned the entire mess over to God and to not exaggerate even a tad. I was fine. In that I could handle the long and busy path to where I am today. Cancer Free and 71 years old. Three new grandchildren... two great grandchildren and still dancing with my Tom. I was diagnosed on January 25th 2006 and didn't have debulking surgery until February 23, 2006... They removed a 39 lb. tumor of my right ovary and my left ovary....one fat pad on tummy with cancer... scraped it off my urethrae and my intestines... AND Ta DA upgraded me to a Stage IIIC... It can be done Hold out your hand.... I'm here in the Land of a Million Lakes... Minnesota used to have only a tad over 10,000.... But then the Rain came Down! We can hold your cyber hand and help you along your way!!!! Cancer Free for almost 9 years.0July 2014

Hi Summeresque - Great name! I'm across the Bay from you in Sunnyvale! It's a gorgeous day today!
I have a similar cancer altho mine is stage IV. I'm currently in remission, healthy and happy. I've done the whole chemo-surgery-chemo gauntlet and am currently receiving maintenance chemo to make sure I'm as cancer-free as possible. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have or just offer moral support.
This is a great site for that - everyone here is great about offering up their thoughts and opinions and you won't find a more knowledgeable group! There are tons of resources, links and information here as well. Just dive right in and make yourself at home.0July 2014 -
Hi,I was raised right next door in Hayward, but now live way up in Redding where it is suppose to be 108 on Monday.I am 67 and was diagnosed with IIIC ovarian cancer last Sept.I have been where you are.It is very important that you have a good gyn/ onc to head up your medical care.Redding did not have one so traveled down to UC Davis in Sacramento for my care.I underwent two cycles of chemo to shrink my abdominal tumors followed by debulking surgery and four more rounds of chemo both with chest port and abdominal port.I have been in remission now for four months and taking it one day at a time. All of these are not easy but they are DOABLE! Ask questions and share your experiences, all of us on Whatnext will support you.We are all here for each other.Take care, talk anytime.0July 2014

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
