Hi there. Read your post and thinking perhaps there were no ovarian cancer survivors coming to the site for awhile. I had not received a notification for almost a month. I did get notified just today about Delo1958. Did you see this posting? How are you doing with your treatments?

    Hi,
I have the same diagnosis as you. Could you please tell me what your initial surgery was like?

Hey there, saw your question. I believe kalindria was on Doxil for awhile and she will probably see your question and respond but she comes on the site usually every two to four days. For a quicker response recommend the site Sisterhood of Ovarian Cancer Survivors on Facebook where you will have many ladies responding. I love my WhatNext but Sisterhood only has ladies and only ovarian cancer caregivers and survivors .

Hi, macfightsback -- great name! Welcome to WhatNext.com. I'm a fellow ovarian/fallopian tube survivor. I was originally diagnosed in 2013 at stage IV. The initial treatment was rough but I made it through. My life has changed a lot. I've had two recurrences but I'm still here and always hopeful.

Please take some time to explore this site and check out the links, resources, Pinboard, and questions pages. The information there is great. The rest of us here are also happy to connect and answer your questions about our cancer journeys and how you can navigate the changes to come.

Best of luck! Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi macfightsback, welcome to the sight. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Everyone’s journey with this disease is so different, but I can certainly identify with the loss of hair ( everywhere ) and the debilitating fatigue. I came to WhatNext in September of 2013 . Like many with ovarian cancer, I was misdiagnosed for seven months because most of my symptoms were epigastric in nature. After finally demanding a CT scan, I found out I was full of tumors and ascites, and eventually received the diagnosis of Stage IIIC undifferentiated Ovarian Cancer. I was two weeks shy of my 67th birthday, scared, depressed, and in disbelief, plus I had been given an “ up to two years” survival time by the gp who finally ran the scan. I AM STILL HERE! I encourage you to keep reaching out to other survivors in you area or online. I belong to three different groups. Tough times calls for added support, and we are all stronger together. You can converse with any of us on our walls and there are several very supportive teal sisters on this site , look them up. I would be happy to talk to you anytime lady. Wishing you strength, and better days ahead.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm just so scared. His prostate cancer went into the bones in January and so far he's not in pain. He's just miserable from the injections and medications he takes.
    We're hoping for the best.

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started with the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian-tube-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.

Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
