Glad to hear the good news about your liver and wish you continued success on the revised drug regimen. My husband developed internal bleeding after his liver resection & chemo pump removed. He had a couple of more setbacks and is currently rebounding from an aspirated procedure to clear up an infection around his liver. It's killing me inside..still in hospital close to a month, but we won't give up. Wishing you continued strength on your recovery road.0October 2015

Hi! I just saw your response about coping with chemo. I'm 2 sessions into 12 on the same chemical combo and wondered if the recovery time keeps getting longer each time or if it levels out at a certain point.0March 2015

The surgery is not easy but it is not as bad as imagined. He had very little pain post op. He had an epidural drip which stayed in for a few days and that really helped. You will take it slowly! His doctor said that the liver would regenerate in 6 weeks and that is what the scan showed. His gall bladder was also removed to help the surgeon get to the affected area of the liver. It just takes time. He had few dietary restrictions but absolutely NO lifting, vacuuming, etc. for 6-8 weeks. He still needs a nap each day. His appetite is beginning to increase now and he is putting back a few pounds. Please let me know how you fare. I will keep you in my thoughts for a positive outcome.0January 2015

Welcome to a community if wonderful people. I'm sorry you are going thru this, but remember we are all going thru the same journey, some of us are just on a different path. I'm am a 52 yr old female, Stage IV with metastatic nodules in my lungs and 1 New liver lesion. My cea markers have never been higher than a 3.2. My doctor said she doesn't put a lot of stock in the test because there could be so many contributing factors to cause the number to raise and lower. Like zubsha said, it's not a perfect test and not used for screening. Even an infection can raise the numbers. Best of luck to you. Prayers and Blessings!0July 2014
