Sue_2015, read your response to Barry's statement and thought I would touch base with you. Can certainly understand your concerns and fears. I have had my chest port now for over two years, and it is like a trusted friend. At first I worried over it but no longer and get it flushed every six weeks. Perhaps I am wrong but you do seem unusually stressed. I did not recognize this in myself and it took my pcp to make me realize that I was so stressed and was having difficulty coping with my diagnosis. He placed me on a mild antidepressant and I was really surprised at the difference it made. I am currently in remission, and no longer taking the medication, but should I have a recurrence,( about 70% chance) I would not hesitate to take the medication again. Glad to see you taking part on the question page and look forward to your future input. Take care, and wishing you better days.

    Hi Sue,
I am having my first chemo treatment of Folfox on Friday. Apparently it is started in hospital then a nurse comes to my home in the evening and hooks me up through my port and it stays in for 48 hours and then she returns and removes it. Don't know what to expect really.
