So sorry you are hurting. Is it from the port procedure do you think? And did you take your pain meds? Sleep is a very crucial element to healing and fighting and staying positive, please if this continues let the doc know. Don't suffer when you don't have to. Here's to hoping that you get some snooze in soon.0October 2014

You are new to this...and it is frightening....your mind goes to a lot of places of "what ifs"....I have had a mastectomy (my choice to alleviate the worry of reoccurence),finished my 12 weeks of Taxol and am now continuing the Herceptin until April. This site has been a lifesaver......we are all here for you. Gail0October 2014

Good almonds really helped me get protein after chemo - hit me the third day after each treatment. I ate small amounts of food every couple of hours. Didn't realize the joy of ice cream until after several treatments. One of the few things that tasted good. You are not alone. We are here for you. Were snuggly socks.0October 2014

Good luck with your consultation with your surgeon. Ask lots of questions and take a notebook to write everything down. It is overwhelming. Take care.0October 2014

I hope your consultation was inspiring, hopeful. There is a degree of calm in knowing and trusting the information you receive.0October 2014

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend

Hi angimary, like you I was recently diagnosed and now my world like yours is moving a million miles an hour. Being in active duty in the Navy I am also separated from most of my family but like you my kids are my inspiration to wake up everyday and get moving and tackle this thing. I have experience great acts of kindness on my behalf. So many people will rally around you now; but here the key " if you let them". This blog or board has already educated me on many things. I ask many rookie questions here because I just don't have the answers and I need all the information I can get. I'm on my 3rd oncologist not because they are not professionals it's because I felt they were too preoccupied to give me the attention I require. Might sound really petty to some but not to me. Please don't feel like your alone because your not but sometimes you will have to reach out and ask for a little help. You can always talk to us regardless of the time, or subject. So many kind people on this support site have already helped me because they get it and understand what we are going through.0October 2014

You have a lot ahead of you, the kind folks here have been where you are, they are available and waiting for you. We wish you the best in care and outcome.0October 2014

So sorry you have to go through this scary journey but know everyone here has been through it. As Lindy said we will be here for you to answer any questions or concerns you may have. These are wonderful people who want to help get you through this. Hugs to you.0October 2014

Hello...you will find wonderful people, information and support here. Please let us know if we can help in any way. Be sure to ask questions and join in our discussions.
The first few weeks are the scariest and hardest. Once you have a plan in place you will feel like an active participant in fighting this beast. Try to bring someone to your appointments as an extra set of ears is always a good thing. Get a binder type of notebook to keep all the printed information you will receive. I divided mine into sections for surgery, oncology, radiation, work-related papers, etc.
Be careful with websites. A few good ones are BreastCancer.org, the American Cancer Society and the Mayo Clinic website.
We all have much to share with and learn from each other. We will be here for you. Sending along best wishes and a sincere welcome. Grace0October 2014 -
Welcome to the site. I am sure that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need someone to talk to. We are all in the same boat when it comes to emotions and feelings about our health. Just know that no question is to silly to ask and if you need to vent because you are having a bad day, we are here for you. I hope you find this site as helpful to you as it has been for me.0October 2014

Hi angimary, try not to feel alone. Surround yourself with happy things. I am stage III and Her2+ also, I had my last Herceptin on July 11 and am getting ready to go for reconstruction the end of the month. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I can give you my perception on what I've already been through. Good luck to you and remember we are always here for you.0October 2014
