Mine was actually really good. Got to spend lots of time with family in the sunshine. Ate some mudbugs. Cleaned some house. It was good while it lasted. I'm now officially back on the cancer train. Saw radiation onc today, having scans this week, simulation next week if all goes well with scans.0March 2015

So excited to be healed. I'm sure that everyone is sick of me talking about it. Hope you are feeling good today
Hugs to you and your little guy.0March 2015 -
Hi friend. Glad that the chemo is working (re: holding up the metatisis). Sorry I haven't been around. I'm taking a cancer break? After surgery I developed a wound in a skin fold so I'm waiting for that to heal so that I can return to treatment. I'm calling this my cancer break because I have been focused on getting control of my diabetes now that I can and want to eat food.
Like the new photo. How's the kido?0March 2015 -
I have read some of your posts and I want to say I am glad you are staying strong! Good for you. My mom is sick, I know its really hard to stay strong. Just glad you are still fighting!0March 2015

Hi, angimary. I saw the question you posted on January 17 about pain. How are you doing?0January 2015

Hi! I also am stage iv with metastasis to bone and skin. I did taxotere, perjeta, and herceptin for five treatments. Now U get perjeta and herceptin. What chemo drugs are you on? I had a double mastectomy without reconstruction after I finished taxotere. I have been in remission since July 2013. This stage iv diagnosis is over whelming and only others diagnosed as stage iv get it. It does get easier with time. Well, maybe not easier. I should probably say it becomes the new normal with time. How old are your kids? Mine are 17, 15, and 9. My girls remember my first breast cancer diagnosis six years ago but my son was too young to remember.0December 2014

Had a little scare. Been having headaches for a bout a month now. Did MRI and had to keep myself extremely busy so I would stew excessively. Praise God it came back neg.0December 2014

I have just read through the posts on your wall for the first time and you have had a lot of challenges that you've gone through since you started cancer treatment. It seems like wanting to "give up" is not an unexpected response to all that you have been through.
I have a couple of thoughts 1)Are you having pain, nausea, or some other bothersome symptom that is not in good control right now? I myself always feel more discouraged about things when I am uncomfortable. If you are uncomfortable could you think about checking if your dr could make any changes to your meds to make you feel better? 2)Is there anyone in your life that you can talk to about what you are going through? It helps me to talk to a mental health counselor regularly. This is someone that I feel very comfortable saying whatever I want to say to him. 3)Are you on any meds for depression or anxiety? I myself tried a few different antidepressant meds a few years ago and they did not help me but they do help a lot of people I know. The psychiatrist I was going to gave me an anti-anxiety med to take when needed. The antianxiety pill is very helpful to me when I am having a bad day. 4)Do you have the energy to do any exercise? For myself even if I don't feel great I usually feel better after I move around doing some exercise. Walking in our neighborhood mall is what works best for me these days.
I am sorry that this note is so long but mostly I hope that by tomorrow you will feel more encouraged.0December 2014 -

Beautiful hair. Your wig is beautiful too! I had very long hair like you and miss it so much. It's really hard to deal with losing hair on top of everything else. But I am thankful it is growing back....just very slow patience is something I lack. Hang in there you are not alone0November 2014

So I hope your apps went well. I'm postponed on radiation until this wound heals. Scares me to wait. Did start tamoxifen today so that's good. At least I'm doing something.
Have a blessed day and thanks for being there. Helps a bunch.0November 2014 -

If you are on Taxol ask about icing your fingers during treatment. My center gave me ice packs. This helps to prevent your fingernails from turning black and possibly losing them. Mine did discolor but I didn't lose any. Expect to be on a high the day after and the second day you crash. You will learn to make your schedule around those days. You can do this...we are all here for you.0October 2014

Good luck tomorrow. I'll thinking of you. Keep nausea meds on board.0October 2014

I just read some of your other posts. I had taxotere but not herceptin. If you have tingling in your hands or feet, or other signs of neuropathy, ask your doctor about glutamine powder. It really helped me and neuropathy is a common side effect with taxanes. Chemo is not so scary once you get used to it. Your port will make it easier and eliminate a lot of risks like infection and vein collapsing or burning. Everything moves so fast in the beginning that you can hardly believe this is happening to you. After the first treatment you will know what your treatment center provides and what you might want to take with you. Mine provided snacks, drinks, blankets and pillows - everything you might need, even lotion and paper and pens. All I ever took was my Kindle. I think I would have been able to drive afterwards, but my husband did not want me to. The steroids keep you from feeling much of anything for a few days. I hope it goes well with you.0October 2014
