Are you on FB, Revjt? Let me know, so I can get you in touch with our group leader. She is the one who can connect you to us. There are a number of things which many of us wish we had known before we started treatment, which can make your life better. Let us help you. Send me a message.

I'm so sorry that you were diagnosed with anal cancer, butt there is a bright side, if interested you can join a women's only anal cancer support group on face book which is private & secret, which means no one outside the group can see your posts, only members of the group. Currently we have over 90 members whom have been staged a 0-4, who can offer ideas and suggestions to may your journey a tad bit less stressful. I wish someone had told me to see a dentist and to see my stylist and my pedicurist before my first treatment. I did not lose hair but I did lose toenails and if I had taken care of my ingrown nails I would have been more comfortable. You are not supposed to get pedis and dental cleaning during treatment. Also the dentist can make the miracle mouthwash for the Chemo mouth sores... A GOOD easy to care for haircut is essential but if you need a wig, go to the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. They often have donated wigs and other items

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you

Hi. I'm so sorry for your diagnosis. I had the same cancer stage 1 and am currently 2 years post treatment with NED! (No evidence of disease) It's a rough treatment but you'll get through it and your life is worth it!

Hi Revjt! Welcome to the group. As Sally said the wonans only group is fantastic. Feel free to ask anything, we are here to help get you through. I'm 3 years NED from stage 3B. It's a tough treatment, but only 30 days unlike done treatment courses. Stock up on supplies now and you'll be done in no time. Then let the healing begin.

Hello Revjt - welcome to the group. I finished my treatment for the same cancer in June 2015 and am doing well. This group is very supportive, but there also is a private, women-only anal cancer group on Facebook, where we share all the gory details and advice on how to deal with our particular problems. If you haven't been invited to join yet, you soon will be contacted with the woman who leads our group (whose What Next screen name I've forgotten). You will find it invaluable and should join, for your own peace of mind. I'll hope to be able to welcome you to that group soon - you won't be sorry.
