Hi, PennieEckard. I'm just checking in on people that I'm following and people who follow me. Your last post was some time ago and mentioned going into a skilled care facility. How are you these days? I'm hoping you are okay.0November 2017

Hi PennieEckard, sorry for your diagnose too! Never in my life would I have thought my late 50's would include lung cancer. It's good to have each other to reach out too. I'm wondering why your onc didn't test you for the gene? My onc was such a pessimist kept saying you will probably get chemo anyway because only 15% of LC patients have the EGFR gene and here I did!0March 2016

Hi Pennie, my husband is going through lung and bone cancer so am familiar with your journey. I certainly hope you have a good support group and lots of prayers going out for you. we will add you to our prayers as we know this is in God's hands and his will will be done. Very hard journey to accept but through the good Lord we get through it one day at a time.0December 2015

HI PennieEckard, have read your experiences and saw you have a decision point but no details, does this have to do with your gall bladder problems and impending surgery? I had my gall bladder removed about fifteen years ago. I had one round stone stuck in the bike duct. They did laparoscopic surgery on me and I healed quickly. Have not missed my gall bladder all these years. Know of your concern as far as stirring up the Cancer and to be truthful, this would flit through my mind too but as Greg said, I do not think you need to worry about this . Address your concern to your doctor. Usually, if you are exhibiting symptoms of gall bladder disease, surgery is a necessity. Do not have lung cancer but know what it is to be diagnosed in later stage Cancer and the toll it takes both physically and especially mentally. If I can be of any help do not hesitate to contact me. Wishing you better days.0August 2015

Hi Pennie, thanks so much for "following" me...I am a retired pediatric nurse practitioner whose dearest friend and colleague at my former health center is an 11 year lung cancer survivor and one of the kindest, caring physicians I know. She had brain mets, underwent whole brain radiation, and other than losing some peripheral vision, has done remarkably well. She continues to work and has a full patient care panel...
Sending best wishes and thanks again. Grace0August 2015 -
Hi Pennie. I see you have elected to follow me. My humor tends to be just a bit on the sarcastic side, just a warning. Hope all is good in your world today. You've been on the boards a little longer than me -- I think I joined this motley crew in Aug 2012. Where's Curtice? I'm in Columbus and grew up in Dayton. Seeing that you have been through quite a bit, I'll keep thinking good thoughts in your direction.0February 2015
