    Hi Grammyma,
I get Lanreotide injections every 28 days. I was on Afinitor until January, but it quit working. I have a primary in my duodenum that they won't remove and 30 tumors in my liver......4 which are 5". I had a Y90 radiation treatment in March and am having all sorts of issues.
My oncologist, I feel, doesn't listen to what side-effects I am experiencing. He doesn't believe in "carcinoid" symptoms.
I am frustrated more than anything.
I plan to do some juicing and doing more raw foods. My oncologist doesn't agree one way or the other.
Thank you for reaching out to me.

Hi Grammyma, Just read what you posted on my wall. Thanks for the prayers, keep them coming. Tomorrow they will be do the mapping they call it at the medical center a all day thing. My husband had the Thoracentesis (fluid removed) from his lung area, and also a Paracentesis (fluid removed from his stomach area) been a tiring day all around. Tomorrow will be another full day, 10 hrs. on his back not counting everything else. They will keep his point of entry open in his artery open for the iR embolization on the 16th of Dec. Sorry to hear that use hit a rough patch, when you mention having a MRI done on the 15th. I'll be thinking of you. I just got a call from the Dr.doing this tomorrow, that my husband supposed to come back to get a MRI done for all of this on Jan. 12th and see the dr. again on Jan 15th. My gosh, just to keep up with all of this is very hard any more. I guess the MRI supposed to show what is happening after a treatment? I just want to thank you again for just being there. Just want to let you know (even with you up and down days you are very special) I think sometime people forget why we are here. (on this planet). This is why we are still here to try and help other people (get it). Bless you and keep being strong... Love Ya....

Hi Grammyma, Hope all is going well for you there, I read where you were feeling down over Thanksgiving. Maybe things are better now. My husband and I anymore says it's a good day or not so good. We did find out this week where he can start getting treatment now. The dr. moved on it very fast and got things started for next week. She is going to do IR Embolization with UC Interventional. We know it's not a cure but hopefully it will shrink the tumor and make him feel better. And who knows maybe down the line something else can be done. Just never know. Right now, just trying to juggle all of these dr. appt. and not over lap on them. ha ha. Keep your spirts up....

Hello. At first looked at your question about depression then at your wall as think helps to have a little info about the person posting. I was amazed to see you have been a 10 year warrior!!! Also I look at your age as well and thought again wow! This person has strength! I'm sorry your holidays are less than idea I'm suffering the same thoughts as no work etc Christmas coming young daughter. Then I think thank god for those blah feelings as well as feeling bad or good means I'm still capable of feeling and that means I'm still alive. Not sure of your faith but have added you to my prayers as well as thoughts and hoping you can feel well enough to enjoy some of each day. I have had days that are all bad all day so I have come to accept days where I can even just have good even for part of a day as a good day. :)

Hi Grammyma, Just seeing you post something on my wall made my day. What i'm reading right now on your wall, may be something my husband (keeping our fingers cross on Dec. 4th) The cancer dr. and the liver dr. from last Mon. & Tues. both of them told us by the looks of my husband last lab test they will be sending him back to this dr. on the 4th (she is under Intervention Radiology)
she is the same on that seen him on July 1st. At that time she couldn't do the chemoelization on his liver. But we are just praying that this time she can. These terms I'm still trying to learn. Nothing mention yet about any inj. as of yet. But maybe they are waiting to see if they can start any treatment as of yet. I love any prayers we can get right now. I don't know if you knew we just move from our home to a apt. all this month. Like my friend told me, Mary, you do know you are dealing with the two must stressful situation anyone can be dealing with. I laughed and said, well you know I knew we had to be closer to when my husband needs to be at right now. Some how I managed and we are settled in. Someone is watching over us, my neighbors that I just me have been super. My next door neighbor today stopped me when I took our little dog out for a walk, he didn't know the details. Just mention he didn't see my husband out since we moved in too much, except he walks slow. He now know why. He told me if there is ever a time that I needed help to please let him know. Gosh, these last few months people, total stranger have come up to me offering help. I told my husband gosh, it like angels (I honestly don't know what else I can call them). Offer all sorts of help. The lady across from me hanged a bag on my door, when I came home,my husband has to have fluid drain every so often from his stomach area and chest area. Just a beautiful note she left me, and she hug my that night, and said she would say a prayer for us. A few days later is when the doctor told us, they can't explain why his lab work was coming back better. The cancer dr. said, if they were doing chemo treatments they would have said that it was the chemo that made the lab work is what is. But since he isn't getting any treatment. They can't explain it. Thank you again for thinking of us, and please keep the prayers coming.. Luv Ya.

Hi Grammyma, Tell me a little about what the Sandostatin Lav injection do? Seems like we spend a lot of time getting all sorts of lab work done too. My husband gets Thoracentesis and Paracentesis done at the U of A medical center in Tucson. I keep a record on how much they drain from his stomach area, and behind his lung. He was going every 2 weeks, but this last time it had been a month. So that is a good sign. Today we had to go to the wound center at the cancer center. Come to find out it was a presure sore starting so hopefully with the pillow she gave him this will help. We wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers.

    Hi Grammyma,
I will be starting treatment tomorrow for carcinoid cancer, after remission of 6 months..
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer Nov. 2013, surgery, chemo ( 6 treatments), and briefly cancer free. At 3 mos. checkup and ctscan, things changed slightly, and 2 mos later and ctscan , surprise...I was told I do have a 50-50 chance. Fighting again with new treatment and a whole lot of prayers.. Another tough ol' bird of almost 74 years...Life is a journey, but we are not alone...Hugs and prayers are on their way to you. Would like to follow you progress.

Humor is a strange thing....What IS humor and what is that THING that makes us have that real belly laugh. I laughed last night to the Pink Panther Movie....there was a hysterical scene in a Plane Bathroom that had me rolling on the floor. Peter Sellers was a one of a kind....nothing like those movies anymore.

Hi Grammyma- thanks so much for your kind words. I had a wonderful psychiatrist who retired due to cancer right around the time I started treatment. I think you are right- time to find a replacement.
