I had sort of a similar experience at my dermatologist's office. I went in for my yearly full body exam & was told that there would be someone called a "scribe" in there with the dr. OK, so I had no objection as It was not fully explained. Well, the scribe was not one but two, 20 year old men who were being trained to record what the dr. reported. Here I was in a size 2 medical gown, trying to hide what I could from these two giggeling idiots!
That was my last visit to that dr., I now have a respectful dr. who doesn't use "scribes"

OK-- My temp-my daughter's temp, my son's temp, levi's temp is 97 point something.
I was hospitalized right after the hospital bought over a 1,000 new IV-combination BP, body temp-heart rate, etc monitors-the newest- latest- and most expensive- MADE in INDIANA, USA.

The monitors couldn't read my temp. They borrowed monitors from other floors, had the sales rep out at 2 AM, trying to adjust the electronics-thank god for the modern IV set up in my hand.

I had reps come in from Colorado to help the NM rep- hospitalists arguing with them- them saying TG that I wasn't a frost bite victim- and was strangely healthy with a 97. whatever.

They adjusted some at the factory and flew them to albuquerque before dawn, so I was trying to sleep with an engineer trying to make these things work and record my temperature.

Then I was trying to sleep the next day and all sorts of people woke me up to apologize to me.

My son and I seem to have a genetic glucose problem. Body stress like having a baby-my son doesn't do that-but he has surgeries, etc. and our glucose bounces all over the place-high-low-high- We get very cranky with all of the glucose sticks. There is so much to be said for a paper chart like my son has at the VA- and I had with the DOD----if they look good-ignore glucose.

No-- I don't like electronics and the thought of robots- medical staff gets dumber and dumber and they can't even figure out the problem. I'm the one that told them they needed to fix their stupid machines before hypothermic patients came in from the winter mountains. They said- OH, OH That's right!!! Then they made phone calls to other floors, reps, and Indiana

I was in the meat department at the San Diego Navy grocery store, commissary. The butchers came out with funny looks on their faces and said that JFK was dead. We all told them to shut up. They cried and brought out the radio, so we could hear it. Some women started crying, and left their groceries, because they had to get their husband's seabags packed with the right uniforms to invade Cuba. I was one of them that bought everything we could afford, because I didn't know when my husband would leave, when he'd be back, or when we'd be paid.

My kids took it hard because people on the radio and TV were mourning and speculating about invading Cuba. The poor babies were asking what was wrong. I turned to classical music to soothe our souls.

In San Diego the phone company stopped phone service for most of the population. Somebody came over, and I was on the phone talking to my husband--He was on a tug boat-and sometimes he had to report in and go to sea for emergencies at 2 am Sunday morning-so our phone worked A few people came over and tried to call-but the people they were calling didn't have working phones. They were able to call doctors and stuff.

Hi, the pins and needles could be what they call noropathy. A side affect from the chemo. I think the spelling is right. I know someone who had colon cancer and two years after is still dealing with it.

Hi, I still have strep. My doctor was explaining false positives and negatives. I didn't whine. I just said- I'm not better, my fever never broke. She ran a strep-and it was positive.

My temp was down to 97.4.. I explained it has pretty much been that way, but I get nurses that write or manually enter 98.8. I think that her nurse is wonderful, because she let's the actual temp stay in my record. I just said- I have trouble getting medical care, and it's been hard.

With the new antibiotic guidelines -starting with a low antibiotic and going to a stronger one just seems to make my nasty bacteria stronger. She wanted to give me Augmentin, but the network wouldn't let her. I'm in a really sucky era of medical care.
