Glad you found this site. I was diagnosed in September of 2011. Stage III Ovarian. Had ovaries, fallopian tubes, unterus, gall bladder, appendix, and omentum removed. Had to have a temporary colostomy in December of 2011 also. Have completed my six months of chemo on April 25, 2012 and am feeling great. I have had two good CT scan results and C125 is still below 35.
Chemo was not that bad and have a port for the infusions and blood draws. I am glad that I decided to get the port as my veins in arm were hard to find and deal with for the nurses and the port is so easy on me.

Hi there. Would love to share info on the temporary colostomy. Mine was done because a fistula developed between the colon and vagina. It was repaired and I was told that it could be reversed after chemo. My gyn/onc surgeon now tells me to wait a year after chemo to make sure cancer is not showing again.
Were you told how long before you could get yours reversed?
I use Holister products and did try the irrigation procedure but was not very successful with that. I do go about my activities and go out dancing but take along an emergency kit to change pouch, seal etc if I have to. Also carry a change of clothes but have not had to do that when out.

Now I had the surgery and the oncologist said he'd removed all he could see. Then upgraded me to a IIIC and told me I had about 6 months to live, when I asked him...... I told him I was a fighter, looked like a little old lady, but I told him I was tough and I wanted to fight. I did all the chemo he suggested took almost a year. Then he said I want you to do this.... Chemo once a month for a year.. we did it for 13 months..(miscount by someone) I'm hear and I'm about to have my 70th birthday. Something, I never thought I'd be this joyous about... I have danced at my grandson's wedding and held my two great grand children in my arms. Grab my hand, I'm willing to guide, lead and follow in order to help you. I found that 'together' was the way to beat this.
