To respond about chemo fatigue, it is like no other. You can be fine & 15 minutes later weak, sick as a dog, rest, take a nap & possibly get up, be confused, go to the kitchen, effort to get something prepared, either take a bite or not at all, go back to bed for bone pain, chills, night sweats. Cancer hurts. I almost lost my mind dealing with the bone pain. No one certainly warned me! LOL0September 2014

Oops Keith- please forgive me I made a mistake about you having a Whipple procedure. That was someone else on your wall. I am also new on WhatNext so I will get the hang of it soon! Sorry!0September 2014

Hi Keith59,
I notice that you say are in NED- what does that stand for? It sounds like a good thing! I am new to the melanoma lingo- I hope you have a safe Whipple on Monday too! I have no idea what that is either! Peace and Great Health to you! You seem like you have gone through a lot and have a wonderful strength and spirit!0September 2014 -
Good morning Keith...I was just reading an online newsletter I receive from Dana Farber Cancer Center here in Boston and I thought of you. There is an article on pembrolizumab or MK-3745.
It is showing great results in patients with advanced or inoperable melanoma to the extent that it is now being fast-tracked to approval. It is reportedly well-tolerated and has very manageable side effects.
You may already be aware of it but just wanted to share this with you "just in case." Your presence on the site is wonderful. Have a great day! Grace0September 2014 -
Good morning Keith, how are the side effects coming from the new treatment? Can you tell anything else going on from the treatments? If I remember right, this was the first one of those you have had? Just curious. Hope all is well.0September 2014

I think that is a very good idea. My own approach has been to silently try to stay away from the topic and realize a question about my health is not asking for a long accounting, the kind I talk about with my wife. But I need a reminder occasionally and your post did that. Thanks, Keith.0August 2014
