Hi Bonnie, just wanted to let you know I sent you an email with my phone numbers. I was worried it may have gone into your junk or spam folder. If you didn't get it, let me know and I'll send it again. All the Best, Sharon0June 2015

Bonnie, I hope you always feel safe and protected on this sight. Your question, as far as I'm concerned, was out of genuine care and compassion for your friend. Please don't let a few uncaring remarks spoil the great intentions of Whatnext. Take care my friend. Always wishing you the best!0November 2015

Golf Girl, I was surprised & sorry that you took my answer as being mean & un-supportive. It was meant to be informative.
I have a lot of experience with alcoholism, and cancer as well. To hear of someone drinking heavily while taking chemo is dynamite.
Total insanity. But, it doesn't really surprise me.
My husband and then later, my best friend, died from the poison called booze. Then I got cancer, not once, but 4 different times.
different types too, except for skin cancer which seems to come back constantly. Big deal!
Drinking heavily is a disease, it is a disease of denial, lying, and selfishness. It tears up the alcoholic, but does even worse harm to his family & friends. I won't go into what I went thru as it is finally over, but the problems caused by booze reach very deeply into all walks of one's life.
You need to contact an AA in your area, they can help you & help your friend as well, BUT ONLY if he/she will let them & admit there is a problem.
Good luck to all.0November 2015 -
Hi GolfGirl,
I have mostly been away from WhatNext the last few days ... life is interfering with me playing on the site!!
I have learned that there are certain people on the site who will often have mean and sarcastic responses. It isn't just me or just you who have issues with the way the responses are phrased ... those certain people offend or hurt the feelings of many individuals who participate here.
I tend to just glance, if that, at many of the responses from a few people here. It is just easier on my psyche that way. Fortunately, the vast majority of the people here care deeply and really want to offer help or answers to the best of our abilities.
I am afraid that sometimes I might offend people with my response, not because I mean to by any stretch of the imagination, but because I word it wrong or answer hurriedly or my brain won't let me phrase it like i want to. I should probably not respond under those conditions, but sometimes i feel compelled to put my 2 cents in even when I shouldn't!
Anyway, this is meant as support ... and a hope that you will continue to feel safe and loved here.0November 2015 -

Just say your post from a month+ ago re your broken tooth/loss of filling - I am beginning chemo on Tuesday - I have the same issue and have only a few days to find a dentist as I have no one now. This...all just blew up 4 weeks ago. Did you have, or do you know if you can have dental work during chemo? I'll be on 3 week round, so I'm thinking the 3rd week after infusion I'd be less susceptible to...whatever immunity wise? I'd love to relax a bit without trying to impossibly search for a dentist a the last minute - have 3 other appts this week already. Thanks! Pamela0May 2015

Hey GolfGirl, so happy to see you on the site. I haven't posted in quite some time. I'm on a chemo break until July 11th. Then I will get a ct scan to see if my lung nodules are growing. If so, then I will most likely start a stronger chemo. Just wish I could get back on maintenance chemo. It will be 4 years in July since I was diagnosed with mucinous adneocarcinoma of the rectum. Dealing with my colostomy sometimes really gets to me. But for the most part I handle it fairly well. Tonight is our local Relay For Life. It will be an emotional evening as I have lost several friends this past year. Take care and keep fighting!!0June 2014

How are you feeling ? You still making trips out to palm springs it's getting hot out that way. Hoping for good news for you on the 20th . You along with others are still in my prayers.0June 2014

Thank you for the information. I don't know which plan you signed up for and if you let me know I will look into it. I just want some doctors that will fight for me. Oh yeah, when I tried to sign up they said I had to go with affordable care plans in Orange County and it is not too many. My precious primary doctor will not even take it but I refuse to give her up. She had never given up on finding out what was wrong with me. She could only fight as much as the insurance would let her.0May 2014

GG,
I hope that today you arent feeling as tired as you were three days ago. I know how tough it is.... Our minds and our heart says let's do this or that today and our body reminds us we just don't have the energy we once had.
May I ask you a question, does Steve live with you? If so, is he ever sitting right next to you but does not try to engage you with conversation? Does he ever just sit there with his eyes closed? My husband is beginning to display this behavior. I know this is very hard for him and my kids heck for my entire family living with me or not. I don't hound him to talk with me I know he is trying to deal/cope with this in his own way. They don't give any of us a how to book on dealing with this and all that comes with it so it is hard for us / them. Have you gotten a break from cycle yet?
Still holding you in prayer.
