You've been through the mill, not just with your own cancer, but your sister and now your daughter. And your insurance company pussyfooting around about your scan. Yikes! We don't always get the dubious luxury of focusing only on our own cancer, but fate is dealing you extra dirty. Finding a way to walk through all this with any kind of equanimity will be a huge challenge.
I'm a 23 year melanoma survivor, and the doctors have incorrectly viewed me as a walking corpse more than once. So depending on many factors, your daughter could see those triplets graduate from college! There are lots of recent advances in melanoma treatment, so there's reason for hope.
