Been thinking about you and your guy; how r things going and where are u now in the journey?? We are leaving Sat for Sarasota from Nashville for my son's third 5-day round of chemo. Just got a call that he has been admitted to hospital; his pulse was 191 and they have it down to 120. They think it's fluid buildi-up (tumors in lungs too) or a blood clot. I feel just the way you posted eight days ago and hope you are feeling better! What a roller coaster ride; you know we really couldn't understand before we lived this, could we? Both of you will be in my prayers and please pray for my strength.

My son, 27 yrs old, is also Stage III-C and is currently undergoing brutual chemo and so far, so good. He has mets to lungs, lymph nodes. How would your partner/spouse prefer to be treated?? Does he like to talk about it, attend any support groups, etc. Hang in there, because I've been told, it gets bad, then the payoff comes with good health.

Hello, welcome to WhatNext. Let us know if there are any questions we can answer. The chemo is rough for everyone involved (the worst experience we ever had to go through). Losing the hair/beard is hard at first but it's a necessary evil. In my husband's case (now 8 weeks after he finished his 12 week course) the hair and beard are starting to grow back. The funny thing is that the body hair I had hoped he would lose didn't fall out, but the hair and beard were the first to go! He also has large tumors in his lungs but the doctor says he would prefer not to do surgery at this time because he thinks the risks would outweigh the benefits. From what I can gather- there are a lot of men with metastatic tumors that they do not remove after chemo because they are only a "shell" and not active anymore (what is important following chemo are the "numbers" (hormone levels) which should steadily fall. I know everyone is different in the way the doctors proceed with surgery. etc.Hang in there !!!

Hello Waterrunsdeep, Welcome to WhatNext!! I'm a Stage III Testicular Cancer Survivor. Reading through your journey brought back memories from last year. The neulasta shot was horrible. The worst one was the last shot I received. That weekend I had to go into the hospital to have a blood transfusion. I ached SO BAD!! Nothing the hospital could do. I to received check 5 days per week for 6+ hours. Or as I like to call it H*E*L*L WEEK!!! If I can answer any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
