Hi there suzqz, thank you for sharing your journey and welcome to the site. Like most of us survivors you have certainly had a journey of ups and downs. Some of us have had a harder journey than others, I think yours qualifies as being in the harder category. But, here you are now on the other side and that is GREAT! Glad you have your hair back. I have my bald head photo right in front of the Christmas tree taken six years ago when I was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer and undergoing chemo.Unlike you, my tumors were throughout my abdomen but not wrapped around anything. I am glad you are seeing the doctor on the tenth for a reversal of your ostomy . I know several people who had great results from that type of surgery, my dad among them. Six years from frontline treatment and the hair on my arms and legs is still sparse. I have noticed the skin on both arms is a lot bumpier than it use to be.
Having been on WhatNext for six years I can tell you it is a good place for the added support that every survivor needs. Ask questions, visit with survivors on their walls ( the higher the number beside their names the more active they are on the site), and visit and post on our pinboard. The addition of videos and blogs is another useful and beneficial tool for survivors to use. I am here anytime to talk. Wishing you continued better days ahead.0January 2020 -
Hi suzqz, and welcome! You've found a great place to ask questions, get information, and share experiences. I was diagnosed with the same type of cancer; mine was stage IV and I was 58 years old. The good news is, I just passed the SIX YEAR ANNIVERSARY of that original diagnosis. Since my original diagnosis, I've had a couple of relapses. I'm currently still getting chemo but feeling good.
Some time ago, I recorded a series of videos for WhatNext about my cancer journey. You and your Mom may find them helpful. I've included a link at the end of this message should you wish to check them out. My hair is longer now and I have a new knee but not much else has changed since I recorded the videos.
WhatNext.com is a great place for everyone, from the newly diagnosed to those of us who've been living with cancer for some time - friends and loved ones too! While you're here at WhatNext.com, check out the questions and experiences of other folks here. You can find people who've had the same cancer, surgeries, chemotherapy and experiences should you wish. It's often reassuring to know others have been through what you're facing and thrived. I also recommend the PINBOARD - there are often humorous or uplifting posts that can make your day. Definitely worth checking out.

In the meantime, I'm here if you have any questions or want to chat.0January 2020 -
