What a place to "meet" but thank you for taking the time to reply. I just finished round three of Folfox with Avastin. I was diagnosed with a tumor at the sigmoid junction and with two pretty large liver lesions. After reviewing my scans, history, etc. with a tumor review board, my doctor suggested 4-6 rounds of chemo to shrink the tumors in hopes of a resection on both my colon and liver. If all goes as I pray it does and that happens, he has recommended "mop-up" chemo after the surgery. I just wonder about the toxicity build-up with a compromised system that already has a build up of chemo from the first 4 treatments. It's like rolling the dice so I guess we all have to make our own decisions as best we can. I have read so much with going thru this with my husband...study after study...percentages and charts...It stills seems like we are all individual beings with different make-ups. I am still a believer in natural therapy but have no shame in admitting the fear that steered me to the chemo treatments. I always said I would never and now here I am. Why don't we see trial studies on natural therapies in the same numbers as we do the chemical cocktails that are standard therapy? OK..I'm not going down the ranting road...just thoughts that are coming to the surface thru this... Hugs to all!0December 2018

Hi there..thanks for the comment on the steroids. I also see you started treatment in SC. I am dealing with MUSC for any surgeries but my chemo sessions are in another town where my daughter lives. My oncologist is working closely with my doctor at MUSC in hopes of shrinkage of my liver lesions for possible resection. I have a scan the day after Christmas and have toes and fingers crossed that they have shrunk enough to move forward with a resection. As far as the steroids, I have only backed off of the two doses given after chemo sessions to help with nausea. I have had no nausea and my energy levels have been good. The insomnia left me more tired than anything else. I have slept much better and so far all is fine with the weaning down of the steroid dose. Glad to hear your treatment is going well and hope it continues that way for you guys. Happy holidays!0December 2018
