Hi..I had my first round yesterday. I am a quarter of the way finished!! My appt was about 4-1/2 hours. They gave me a bag of steriods first, then a nausea medicine and then began my Taxotere and Cytoxan. The two chemos were given very slowly at first to make sure there were no reactions...which thankfully there was not. The steriod did cause me to get really flushed and hot...they also gave me steroids to take the day before, the day of and the day after. So far so good on the side effects. I have had a touch of acid reflux..but nothing terrible, constipation, very little nausea and my left eye is bothering me some (not sure if that is from the chemo). Right now, the worst part for me is the steriods..they make me wired. I have only slept about 4 hours in the last two days because you have to take them in the morning and at night. If it weren't for those, I think I'd actually feel pretty good right now. Just remember, let your faith be bigger than your fears.0September 2013

I am currently receiving Taxotere and Cytoxan. I have completed two rounds, am scheduled for a total of six. So far, so good. (knock on wood). Some days are worse than others but all in all OK. No nausea/vomiting. No mouth sores yet. They have lots of good meds to deal with the side effects. Best of luck to you.0September 2013

Welcome to the site and remember we are all here cheering you on. When you finish all of your treatments you will truly know how strong you truly are. Nothing small will ever bother you again because you will know that is not important. One piece of advice that was given me when I was going through treatment was to not compare myself to anyone else because we are all different. The one thing that I found most positive about my treatments was I made some really good friends. God bless you and we are always here for you.0August 2013

You have come to the right place. Welcome! The process you are beginning is a long one with many emotional and physical ups and downs. I hope you are able to get through this with a minimum of side effects. Please try to be on the lookout for positives, like meeting some wonderful people, learning about yourself, finding inner strength you didn't know you had. It's difficult, what you are going through, and if you need an answer or opinion on something you are experiencing, please let your fellow WhatNexters try to help. Have a good day today.0August 2013

Welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.0August 2013
