I am sorry about your recent diagnosis. When you were first diagnosed over 2 years ago, what kind of breast cancer did you have and what was your stage? What sort of treatment/surgery did you receive at that time?

I know there are several in the WhatNext community who are also dealing with metastatic breast cancer. Hopefully they will post some ways they are dealing with it. Are there any cancer support groups in your area? If you don't know about any, perhaps your hospital or surgeons or doctors will know of some local support groups. Keep in touch to let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for "following" me...let me know if there is ever anything I can help with...I am so glad you felt comfortable venting yesterday as I do see this forum as a place to seek support and information but sometimes it helps to blow off a little steam and this is a safe place to do that with people who understand what you are going through...hope you have a good rest of the week. Take care.

Hi goodbyegirls, I hope you're healing well from your surgery last month. I'm impressed..how did you get though with no narcotics? Were there other things you did to get through it? I couldn't get through the pain from the surgery without vicodin. Mostly couldn't sleep, and used it mainly at night. As soon as possible cut back to half the dose or used Ibuprofen. I did only stay in the hospital 2 days, and recovered pretty well by 5 weeks. I didn't want reconstruction, still don't, I want as few as possible things done to my body hoping that helps the healing process from both surgery, chemo and radiation. blessings and strength to you! I just wanted to pop in and say wow!! I am so impressed that you were able to do the surgery with no narcotics. I thought I had a high pain tolerance. I think you are my new hero. :) I hope you are healing well and continue not to need the narcotics. My surgeon prescribed valium as a muscle relaxant after my surgery and I used more that than Vicodin. I know what you mean about seeing yourself bald. I always forgot (I am finally getting some hair 2 months post chemo) that I was bald. I always got a little shocked when I walked by the mirror or got in the freezer. :) Good Luck to you!!
