Hi Faithanswered, I too have appendix cancer, and had a complete hysterectomy, then chemo, then HIPEC/CRS last June. I would definitely have the lap. surgery. A friend in his 70's in Australia was diagnosed with PMP or perhaps mesothelioma, and was about to go on the waiting list for HIPEC. The lap. surgery showed that, instead, he had GIST, which can be treated with meds. My understanding of this cancer is that they really can't tell everything that is going on without actually going in. My original CT scan looked like I had ovarian cancer.

Hi Faith. Welcome to What Next. There are a lot of really wonderful people here. I see in your post that you asked some questions. I'm not any helping answering them, but I do have a suggestion. You'll see a question tab at the top of the page. If you post there, the entire network will have access to your question. I know that we have a couple folks w/cancer of the appendyx, so someone is likely to pop on w/some advise. I'm glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here. Wishing you all the best!
