HI--Are you in remission and how long did your chemo and radiation last?0June 2014
-
Hi...I'm 9 weeks from diagnosis, still waiting for surgery (funding problems). Thanks for all your insight on chemo & radiation. I don't know a Stage yet, but d&c showed a grade 3 tumor. Doc says 30-50% chance of spread outside the uterus, so I'm counting on needing one or both. ACS site pretty much says grade 3 = stage 3+ much of the time, so I want to be prepared. It's not the surgery that is scaring me...it's the chemo and radiation.0April 2014

hello.
although it is my sister who has cancer, I am her caregiver and have been along her side through this journey. Wishing you well !0April 2013 -
Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/endometrial-uterine-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
You may also find our "Beginner's Guide To Cancer" page helpful Click Here for that=> http://bit.ly/10BQKCi
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend

Emdanuco,
Let me try and address both questions you posted. The pain associated with the Taxol infusion might be best handled with Tramadol and you might ask your doctor about a prescription. However, both symptoms are a reaction to the Taxol, not an allergy but a sensitivity. Both would be best approached with a Histamine blocker. A H1 blocker for the joint pain like Clariten or Allegra, and an H2 blocker like Zantac or Pepsid for that tightness in your chest which in all likely is Acid reflux as your tummy spasms from the sensitivity. Both meds can be bought over the counter. I am also going to attach a link to chemocare.com which has a section on managing side effects of chemotherapy. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.
