All of this can seem so overwhelming! I will also lift you and your doctors in prayer.
I heard a great sermon today... It was the story of Jesus asking Peter three times if he loved Him. Of course, each time Peter is told to feed and take care of His sheep.... take care of each
other....
The story starts with Jesus asking the disciples to cast their net again and it was filled.... Then He beckons them to the shore to share breakfast... He is always asking us to sup with Him and come out of our darkness into His light.... The message ended with being reminded NOT to go back into the dark tomb... He's not there... He's with us and shines His light on and through us...
In this time of sort of walking through the fog of medical stuff and all of the mental, physical, and spiritual adjustments we are having to make- I found this message to be very uplifting! Don' go back in the tomb! Blessings

Hi cuemac. I live in East Cobb. I was diagnosed Feb. '12 with a different stage and kind of pancreatic cancer. Where are you being treated? Do you feel confident in your doctors? I'm questioning my Atlanta doctor's interest and expertise for this as a specialty. I've got the kind Steve Jobs had....

Hooray for allof you IIB PC survivors...I am a 12 year stage III PC survivor. I had 40% of my pancreas removed in surgery along with my entire spleen, a slice of my left kidney and 5 lymph nodes. The cancer spread to only the 1st lymph node and the others were clear. I feel very, very, fortunate to be here today.

cuemac, I am so glad that you have found whatnext. It has been quite a journey for me. I was diagnosed 12/23/11 (Merry Christmas!) I went to the Mayo Clinic here in Jacksonville. I was told that I had pancreatic cancer stage IV because the cancer had spread to 2 tumors in my abdomen. I was told I had 6 months to 1 year to live. As you can see that didn't happen!
I was able to get to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. I started chemo and have been doing chemo ever since. I did have 2 months off before I had orthoscopic surgery to remove the two tumors in my abdomen. They were removed in Sept. I started back on chemo. I do chemo every other week. I get Gemzar and Cisplatin IV, plus I take a Tarceva tablet every night. I go out to M. D. Anderson about every six weeks to see my oncologist there. He and my local oncologist work closely together.
I just want you to know that you will feel like you are on a rollercoaster. There will be hills to climb and valleys to enjoy. Put your trust in the Lord and have all you friends and family praying for you. I know that is what has gotten me this far!

Welcome Cuemac! I was a IIB as well, had the Whipple and 6 months of 24/7 5FU ( 3 weeks on, 1 off). I was pretty sick from the chemo in the last month, my onc stopped it 2 days short of the full 6 months. That was almost 9 years ago and I am healthy as a horse. Finally, 6 months ago, Doc changed my CA19-9 blood work from monthly to every six months. Matter of fact, I drive to Vanderbilt in Nashville (300 miles) for labs and to see Doc Wednesday of this week, the 30th.

Hi cuemac! Your Norcross AND IIB drew my attention. My family lived in Lilburn for a few years - Dad worked in Norcross. Dad was also diagnosed with stage IIB PC Aug 2011. He's been doing great since! Check out my Journey - which is Dad's - to see what one path may be for you. Dad had Whipple on 9/9/2011, followed by Rad and Chemo. Welcome to the site, Cuemac. As a fellow pancreatic cancer patient, I was diagnosed last April and have since had the Whipple, followed by chemo, then radiation/chemo, then 12 final rounds of chemo. I have 2 treatments left. I am also at Stage IIB. If you have any questions about any of the treatments, I'd be happy to try to respond. JMS
