Hi catmama3, welcome to the site. Read your experiences and was wondering if your doctor who operated on you was a gynochologist or a gynochology oncologist . You had your ovaries removed, did you have your uterus removed also? I am 69 and was diagnosed with IIIC serous ovarian cancer in the summer of 2013. Nothing prepares you for this diagnosis, right? Like you I had carboplatin/taxol chemo , had two rounds before my debulking surgery. Followed surgery with four rounds of IV and IP chemo using cisplatin/ taxol and have been in remission for twenty months. This site really helped me through tough times and continues to give me the support and information I need fighting this xxx disease. All the people here have had their lives interrupted by cancer, they all "get it". Ask questions, continue to share your experiences and perhaps help other with the benefit of your experiences. I just lost my 18 year old kitty, am catless for the first time in 26 years and am going through withdrawal. Figure I'll hit the shelters after the holidays to see if someone wants to come home w/me. Glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here. Wishing you the best!
