Hi Becky. I see you've decided to follow me. Thanks! I can be a bit sarcastic, just to warn ya. My humor got me through treatment. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. And Happy Turkey Day!0November 2015

Hi Beckyleu...I am a Stage III colon cancer survivor and I also live in South Jersey. Have you gone to Penn for an opinion? You are so close to some outstanding cancer centers, including Penn, Jefferson and Fox Chase. I'd consider going for a second opinion and perhaps staying within the hospital's network for all of your tests, treatments, etc.0July 2015

Beckyleu,
I want to thank you for the video's I had no idea of what to look forward to when I go for chemo. This makes me feel more comfortable in knowing I can face this head on. There is nothing worst then not knowing what to expect as I call it facing the unknown. Thank you for giving me the courage to fight the fight of my life. There is still so much left for me to do in my life so as our journeys continue I'm wishing you all healing and love. Be Blessed0May 2013 -

I've been through the port thing.... not with cancer but with Lyme Disease. I really hope I don't have to go through it with this cancer.
I learned that if you are careful in the shower and then change the bandage right after, it will be alright. I did develop an allergy to the tape so they had to switch me off to a paper based tape but it's all good....
I hope you are doing ok.... I was just diagnosed a week ago. I don't have a clue about anything else but I do know about having a port or a central line. Thought I'd share it....
Thanks for being here... you made my day!0March 2013 -

Hi Beckyleu & welcome. I see that you are from Woodstown - I'm just a little south/east of you, in Vineland, NJ. I just answered your question - If I can be of help, let me know. God bless you along your journey.0February 2013

The best thing I can tell you is to take one thing at a time. I know they are throwing a lot of stuff at you right now, but try to take it in small bites. That's something my oncologist told me right up front. Are you having pain now? Is that from surgery? Please don't be afraid to ask questions - we have been there & done it, and hopefully there are folks here that can help you with information to get you through the process. Sending good thoughts your way0February 2013

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/colorectal-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
