Hi. Just wanted to let you know that although I love many essential oils, I used to avoid going into department stores because of the in your face perfume sprayers.

Thére is a huge difference between chemical scents and Natural oils. Even in nature, there are some scents I simply dont like.

    Enjoy your time.

Thank you for your honest response & it’s a bitter sweet kinda feeling to know that I am “unfortunately” not the only one on earth experiencing the reality of “The Port” And yes, a short time to pay for a long life to play! Cheers!!!!

Hello the “love/hate” port person! I had finally found another person that feels the same way that I do about the port. Wondering how your coming along 7+years later. My port was installled Feb 13/2018 & the fact that it saves my (weak finding Veins) was a no brained. However- I find myself being very sensitive on the port side (which is located on the opposite of my breast cancer) No surgery yet. Chemo first . I just have a constant reminder where it’s at (mostly where the neck incision was put-not so much where the Port actually is) I feel every stretch, bend-twist. It can feel kinda hot at times & itches. Sometimes it feels like it’s runnin up to ear. I have no blockage or infection as my medical staff is amazing at playing things safe! So- I asked: why all this discomfort? Do I need to accept & live with it? And just shit TFU? And, The answer must be “Yes” cuz there seems to be no other definitive answers. I am over weight & do wonder if having a double chin aides to such discomfort- I just wish it would go away! Hopefully soon all this will pass. And yes- I would have a port put in again- (for obvious reasons) but unless there’s one heck of a great reason to keep it in- this will be outta here just like my cancer! With the good God’s blessings beside me. Chris/Largo Fl

I am 8 months post chemo and saw your post about stiffness from 5 years ago. I am 43 and also noticing it a lot. Even if I sit down for 3 minutes and stand up, I hobble around like an old person. I feel it the most in my ankles. I was just wondering if it's any better now? Or if you have any advice on how to help? I have been trying to get back in shape the last 6 months and my stiff ankles just set me back it seems. I just always thought once I was done with chemo and the cancer, I'd go right back to normal. Thanks for listening. I feel like I am crazy and no one understands why I'm not back to normal yet. :)

I saw a post of yours regarding CIPN. I too have CIPN & am progressing but I'm still hoping for healing in time. I'm just checking with you & others to see if you've had any improvement since that time. How are you getting on now? Any improvement? I hope & pray that you're feeling better <3

Thank you so much for your support and kind words. You're right about the parking garage. I've made a few trip already. Yes I feel that Penn Medicine is a great place. They've been good so far...I keep praying. Your words truly helped. I'm so nervous about getting started but I'm definitely ready because I know I have no choice but to fight...like you said kick cancer ---. I keep praying that chemo don't have to worst effect on me...Im sure there will be some (manageable I hope). I just have go through it...whatever it takes to win. I liked your idea about documenting my side effects and more because you're right I could make it worst. You know even if my body isn't strong through this ordeal my mind will be strong and fixed on the Power of God. You cant take that damn cancer. And I will bounce back!! Thank you for letting me vent.

Thanks for your answer regarding job. That's exactly what I'm afraid of if I go back and can't do it there is no action plan and put lives at risk. I can't go until I'm ready that is for sure. Sorry you going thru this. I was top of my game as well. Even now people talk to me expect me to know. My doctor who has known me for almost 30 years was asking me multiple questions at once asking me to answer with the terminiology I should know. He stopped and said you are right this isn't you. Guess it shows. Good luck to you and I hope you can find peace as well and definitely Cancer free is paramount.

Thank you for responding to my question. My husband is also IIIA colon cancer and on modified Folfox6 because of some of his lymph nodes having cancer. When you said standard procedure would include either a PET scan or a Ct Scan, how much of the body does the Ct scan cover? My husband is at least getting one (1) Ct scan of the abdomen or pelvis because of a growth on his kidney, but I am hoping he can have it cover more of the body and have more than just 1 over the course of the next year or two.

Thanks for your recent reply. My husband only has two more chemo treatments. The reason I don't have confidence in the treatment plan is that my husband said the oncologist said there is no need for a chest ct scan because he had a chest x-ray before surgery. Maybe my husband just has a bad memory, but if that is what the oncologist says, it makes no sense to me. X-rays are not very sensitive and that is why former smokers, such as myself, are starting to get screened with Ct scans, so there is a chance to treat any cancers before they are too far along. Also, per the American Society of Clinical Oncology, CT scans of the abdomen and chest are recommended each year for three years. So I do not understand why these are not in his treatment plan. I need my husband to let me go with him when he sees the oncologist so I can ask about this. I am beginning to understand, however, why PET scans are not called for in every situation. I didn't realize the level of radiation involved, especially if they use the combined Ct scan with Pet scan. Your comments have been very helpful. And thanks again.

Hey There IKickedit- I was looking for some posts regarding cistplaton (sp?) and found you again! Has it gotten better? I had it so bad its actually keeping me awake at night. I have one more treatment left, but am scared it is going to get worse and I won't have any hearing left! I am pissed my doc did not do any hearing tests before treatment started.......
