Hi, Suzyq, I hope the scrubbies idea in regular swimwear works for you. I guess they could be pinned in place. Mine didn't seem to move much but I didn't do any vigorous exercise either I love your idea to just use existing swimsuits. We have enough expenses! Maybe next summer I'll feel differently but I doubt it. Enjoy your water aerobics.

The skin sensitivity has all but disappeared now. Sometimes by night my clothes irritate it and it's a relief to put on a soft pajama top. I'll try the oil you recommend for the scars! Thanks for that info. Hope you're doing better every day and have plans for something fun in the near future, like a cruise.

I haven't had a bit of trouble, knock on wood, since surgery. Got two of the four drains taken out so far and go in tues for the others, hopefully. Healing nicely from the DEIP flap reconstruction. Can't believe no stitches, all glued shut. Glad to hear yours didn't travel either. We sure are fighters!

Hi suzyq~ I hope that you are home and recovering from your surgery.

I am recovering myself from a dbl masectomy/reconstruction from 5/22. My advice to you is rest as much as you can and dont try to go off of the pain meds too soon!

Hi, Suzy, I had my lumpectomy on May 20 and pathology results say they didnt get all of the tumor. I'll need a mastectomy now on the right side. I'm considering making it a double because I don't ever want to go through this worry and a cancer diagnosis again. Stage 0 sounded like a little insignificant thing, but it's turning out to be a bigger deal than I thought. I'm pretty down about it.

I am also high grade. The doctor's are still running tests on heart murmur and kidney disease first to make sure I can handle the extensive surgery. No date has been set for surgery yet. Next week I have a CT Angiogram being done and a first appointment with an oncologist. Finally moving from the diagnosis to treatment. I wish you luck on your upcoming surgery and we both can share our happiness in the end.

Welcome to the site. I have learned a lot about the different types of cancer out there and how each and every individual deals with it in their lives. This place has given me peace because I know I have a place to come to complain, as you have a place to come to sound off or vent, when I am having a particularly rough day. It has helped me to understand myself and the moods I go through which to me is the biggest help of all and you will find it might do the same for you. We all have our moody days when dealing with cancer and the people on this site are so understanding and friendly and you can't find that anywhere else, I believe.

Welcome to the site Suzyq. You will find a lot of friendly, helpful people on this site. No question is too silly or dumb on this site. They are all taken seriously when they are answered. You won't find a better place to go to sound off either. That is what we are all here for, a place we can go to to sound off when it gets to be too much for us. Is your DCIS invasive or localized? Mine was stage 0 and localized so I didn't have to have any treatment of any kind except I did chose a BL mastectomy because the MRI showed clusters in the left breast and rather than have a triple MRI guided biopsy (because the radiologist didn't read my mammogram right on the right breast) I chose the mastectomy. Did not want that stuff coming back on me. Good luck with your process.

Welcome to this wonderful site...you can ask questions, get support, vent when needed...your decision to have reconstruction is such a personal choice...certainly your surgeon will advise you and you can and should get a second opinion if you still have questions...I am 67 and I sure would not want a "new" breast to look like my "old" one! I accept that I will never have perky ones again, actually I am not sure they were ever perky!
I would never advise you one way or the other, lots to think about though...for myself, at my age, I would not go through the reconstruction as I have had enough surgeries to last, what I hope is a long lifetime...I wish you luck in your search for answers and I am sure you will hear from others here...good luck and God bless!
