Dear Sherry, just checking in to see how you are managing with your cancer as you haven't posted in awhile. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with Uterine papillary serous carcinoma and we are trying to get some idea of what the future looks like...

Hi Sherrya, thanks for replying to my post. I am waiting for the doc to call to tell me when radiation will start. This my third time each in a different spot. so frustrating.

    Dear Sherrya;
How are you? Are you in treatment now? I had a question regarding enlarged lymph nodes. Do you recall if you had any treatment for that? My sister is currently dealing with this.
    Thank you.

Oh, sherrya, I'm so happy to see you back on What Next. I was thinking about you this morning, wondering how you were doing after the second go-round. This afternoon I saw your post in a thread I was following. I'm glad you're back!

I'm also wondering how you are. I have a 5-month check-up with the oncologist next week. My lab results are already online via My Chart. So far- so good.CA-125 results won't be available for awhile I suppose. Had my 6-month visit with the radiation oncologist recently. Everything looks good. The lung nodules present before chemo are still there and they're stable. Tho my lab results are all within normal limits, I feel real tired. Maybe it's just that time of year - less sunshine.

I hope you're doing well. -MM

    Oops...still wrong. Try this one:

    Sherrya,
I have stage 4 endometrial cancer and have had one round of chemo. Will next have radiation. There is a clinical trial I may consider if radiation doesn't work. It's available in many states and might be of interest to you. It's chemo when other chemo didn't work. I don't know if this site will let me put the link, but I'm going to try. If it doesn't come through, contact me and I'll send it to you privately. http://www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials/search/view?cdrid=758254&version=HealthProfessional&protocolsearchid=13292441

How are you doing now that your radiation is over?

28 radiation treatments - Wow! I congratulate your ability to endure. I wonder if I could do it.

It's hard to wait for results. You must feel like you trudged up a mountain only to realize you have to walk down the other side. Cancer is hard never-ending physical and psychological work. The worry is always there.

I hope chemo goes well for you. I hope, for once, those scans show no evidence of disease. It has to be hard to hope for good news when it's only been bad in the past. But - what else can you do? We follow the treatment plan, endure and hope for the best.

I think of you every day. Because our diagnoses were identical, I identify with you. So - I'm with you in spirit on that mountaintop. I wish you great good luck this time. I hope it works. Keep in touch.

Hi, Sherry. I had my first oncology follow-up today since completing Carbo/Taxol on May 5. My labs look good with just a bit of anemia that I don't notice. The CA 125 is the same as last time - 21.

However, the nodules in my lungs disappeared. I asked my oncologist if that meant they were UPSC tumors. She said, statistically, they likely were NOT related to the uterine cancer. Still, she wants me to have another chest CT in 4 months rather than in 6 months. My mammogram was good. That's a relief.

It's an odd feeling, waiting between tests like this. Being told everything looks good . . . for now. It's a reminder to squeeze every good minute out of every day.

I think about you and hope you're feeling nothing but sleepy - my favorite medication side effect. Good luck!

If your cancer is not responding to treatment maybe you should get a second opinion from a large medical cancer center. i have the same cell type I got a protocol from Md Anderson, so far so good. But always in fear of it coming back as it is very aggresive. God be with you.

Gosh, sorry to hear this. So exhausting. Can't go to mailbox, ice on ground., expecting news from oncologist concerning C T last week. He hasn't called. Is that good news or bad? Nervous.

I'm sorry to read you received bad news so soon after your treatment. I've been following you because I was diagnosed with stage 1A UPSC late last year. I think of you as having seniority in this experience. Looking back over your posts, I read that you received only three cycles of chemo . My diagnoses is the same as yours, but my gyn onc recommended the 6-cycle sandwich protocol. I wonder why our doctors had such different opinions given our 1A UPSC diagnoses. Are you still seeing the same doctor? I wish you the very best going forward. Your posts have been very helpful to me over time. You've been very brave throughout and are, therefore, a worthy role model. Thank you.

Finished 6 chemos, no radiation. Dr said external radiation too hard on my body, internal, vagina shrinking so can't do. Go Thursday to oncologist. First visit since finishing chemo. Had internal exam every appointment. He said likely to show up on vaginal cuff if he didn't get all but also said "this cancer is a bad actor and can come back." I have never had a Pet Scan. No symptoms. Had blockage in Iliac artery going into left leg, that's when told my endometrium was too thick. Daughter made go to doctor because I felt pretty good. With treatment neuropathy worse, strength down. Look awful, gee, like a 73 year old woman, bald is beautiful!!

So sorry about what is happening so soon for you specially with a diagnosis of stage 1. I had 5 vaginal radiations and 6 taxol carbo chemos. it will be a year since I finished treatment in April and I'm due for my every 3 months check. I have not have any CT scans since I finished chemo so I'm afraid I will have one in April and what it will show. Our cancer is very rare and aggressive so even on an early stage is not good news. Let me know how you are. God be with you.

Sherry it may be nothing so wait and see. Lymph nodes enlarge after infections and surgery and they can be enlarged for a long time. Nodes are filters for the body so it does not necessarily mean cancer is in there. Since you had cancer the report has to caution about that possibility. God be with you.

hi Sherrya, I am glad you are feeling well. You are stage 1 which I was diagnosed but I did not need the chemo only the radiation. I have my next appointment in January wish me luck. People say to me 'oh it was a terrible year for you' but I think it was the luckiest year of my life. If I had let myself continue to go on like I was I may have had a different prognosis. I just love the flowers in your picture. I live in the northeast so no more gardening here but you and I will be back digging in the dirt soon enough and loving every minute of it.
