My husband was just told today he will have 4 rounds of chemo after he heals from his lobectomy. Dr mentioned using the same drugs as you have. We were also very disturbed by the survivor rate percentage. My husband is depressed about this. How many rounds will you be having? I would appreciate any input you might have. Thank you. Vickie

Hi ridopepper! I'm glad you came to WhatNext. I am pretty new here, too, but my experience is that it is full of very nice and very helpful people. It is good to know that there are others around here that can identify with what you're going through.

I was diagnosed back in October 2012 with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung. My prognosis wasn't all that great, though I was not given a life expectancy. I know what the stats say! I wasn't a candidate for radiation or surgery. Chemo was and is my only option, besides just letting the cancer take its course.

I chose chemo. I'm currently in a clinical trial that I started back in July 2013. I just had treatment round 20 of the trial drug (an immunotherapy drug). My tumors are the same as when I was first diagnosed - they are not going away but they are not growing or spreading either and I feel great, unlike when I was getting traditional chemo treatments.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and welcome you. I'm sorry for the reason you are here, but glad you found the group!!!
