Hello packerbacker,
I was diagnosed with sarcoma last October. When I was completely finished with all treatments, I finally asked my oncologist (after my clear PET scan) exactly what type of sarcoma I had. He told me perineurial. I have not found anything online using that particular word until I read your posts using the word 'peripheral' and wonder if they are similar. I had a large tumor inside my left thigh--no sign of disease in lymph nodes/glands, bone, or muscle. I personally think this tumor had been growing for a number of years and was told by my radiologist that as it grew the inside died off. It was considered stage 2, grade 2 when I finally had it biopsied.
I was given adriamycin and ifosfamide chemo drugs as a precaution--my tests all came out clean before I started chemo treatments. I wanted to kill anything that still may be hiding and that was the explanation my doctors had given me. I had very few side affects and my doctor is still amazed at how well I took the 'harsher than normal' regimen of chemo. I was (and still am) drinking Essiac tea daily. My husband and I feel that is what kept me from getting so sick during treatments.
My best to you in your treatments.
Stacy
