No problem! I lived on homemade protein milkshakes and fruit smoothies. I also ate unbreaded chicken bites. Even if it's only one or two. My wife made the milkshakes with Carnation instant ballast and a little protein powder. In the mornings she would make me a scrambled egg with cheese. Sometimes I could eat otherness I couldn't but the milkshakes and smoothies gave me some protein and were soothing on my stomach.

I would say the first 3-4 were the worst. I had 6 my first time. The third day after chemo day was usually the worst. My second set of chemo treatment was much easier. Still had nausea but not as bad. I credit it to all the pre meds they have me the day of treatment. Benadryl, Decadran, Zofran and one other I don't remember. Plus a shot of adavant. All of it combined put me out for the rest of the day but I didn't have near the side effects.
Hang in there. I promise it gets better. Talk to his oncologist about other solutions. Zofran and Compazine help for nausea but again ask the Dr. He should want to make your husband as comfortable as possible.0September 2013 -
