Hi, so many thoughts and feelings right now. It is normal. I know exactly how you feel. When my hair starting falling out, I decided to have my little one take a pair of safety scissors and make it sort of a family event and let her cut the remaining hair off. It certainly was momentous! Depression is also normal...because none of what you are going through is normal on a daily basis. You are in the early stages of treatment. I have had x2 stem cell transplant. I hope you do not have to get that far. lean on me for any info or questions you may have. I too, was around your age when it all began for me. Today, I am cancer-free. Try to put yourself around others that make you laugh-if you have children, you will be surpirsed at how they marvel at you. Many thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Each Stage is diffeent so please do not focus on my journey. Be strong, but, allow yourself to feel without guilt or fear.

Hi Lynnann, welcome to Whatnext, sorry you are here with us, but this is a great group of people. Is normal to feel anxiety and depression, you are in a battle for your life and you have earned the right to be a little (or a lot) emotional sometimes. I was diagnosed in May with NHL and I have cried more in the last few months than I have in my entire life (I am one of those old school guys that doesn't cry, used to be anyway). I also have been off work during treatment, and have found definitely have to stay busy, hobbies, kids, whastever helps. Hang in there.
