I feel your pain. I worked with Greg the last three years. I wrote the majority of the blog posts. I lost my position when Greg died. Evidently, the founder of this group is not sure what to do with it. I'm sorry, because I loved this group and all of you.0August 2021

Hi, legaljen! I'm just here to ask you to check out the latest question posted by andreacha - I think it is called Renal Cell Carcinoma, but it is really about what is happening on this site. I would love to know what you think?0March 2021

legaljen, I can finally take a breath - I completed my project yesterday and got everything jpeged and sent where it needed to go - whew! The illustrations (9 in all) are for a small booklet our church is producing that is basically the resurrection story told through the eyes of a scapegoat (who is no longer needed once Jesus took our sins). Our church is doing an event that will feature all the animals in the story at various places on our grounds. The idea is for families to move through the grounds as they read the story and they can encounter the animals - including camels and a barn owl (so cool!). This was a tough one for me - I haven't worked in pen and colored pencil in a very long time. The last scene was particularly tough, but I finally found a way to make it work. I know not everyone here is Christian, and I do not want to offend anyone, but I will post that last picture on the pinboard so you can get an idea of the kind of illustrations I do. Hope you are having a good day!0March 2021

legaljen1969, I just want to tell you that I hope your thanksgiving celebration is wonderful, and good for you to follow your heart! I do respect everyone's choices, but I am afraid I am on a different page than most who have responded to my question. I am afraid I am more like that family member so many of them refer to as being *not careful.* I have grocery shopped and eaten at restaurants regularly. I wear my mask, I wash my hands. I am part of a small study group that meets every Monday evening, - we eat together (usually finger food, or we get pizza), we hug (gasp!) and in this cold weather we we keep the window's closed. There are at least 8 to 12 of us, so I am wondering why Thanksgiving is so dangerous when we have been meeting like this since May and we are FINE? Actually one couple did test positive for the virus - they stayed away from our group for two weeks but never suffered anything more than loss of smell. I may be terribly naive about all this. Maybe it is because I have not known of anyone who had a hard time with it, and you know I am in a circumstance where I am aware of the well being of quite a LOT of people. I had to laugh when you described yourself as coming to this site, guns blazing...lol! I think I did the same thing, but like you, I don't want to be disrespectful. Anyway, I suspect you and I are on the same page about a lot of things.0November 2020

legaljen, I am so glad to know your scan was fine. I felt sure it would be, and you probably did too, but it always feels better when we get the official nod. I hope things are smoothing out with your family? I wish I could come to the coast where you are and we could walk the shoreline and talk like crazy. I bet you have a friend you can do that with? - now might be the time. ;-)0November 2020

My dear. I am so very sorry to hear that you are having such a horrible time with your Mother. She is the one who SOUNDS NEGATIVE, NOT YOU!!!!' You hang in there and know that I understand you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!
In the meantime, hang in there and I WILL PRAY FOR YOU!!!! Take good care of yourself and STAY IN PRAYER to ward off any negative people and or vibes..
God bless you.0November 2020 -
jen, I don't think it was your post that upset Kalinda. I read your post and thought it was spot on. Then I later received notification there was another post so I went there but the page was taken down. So, obviously someone posted after you and maybe upset Kalinda? You know, sometimes people are just having a bad day. When I am feeling upset I can often read things in a negative way. You gave sound advice when you suggested she take a few days away, then look at it again. We all have to do that with all kinds of situations, don't you think? It's just life...(and we LIKE life!) ;-)0September 2020

jen, my husband, Steve, is an ordained minister and Pastor - one of the pastors at our church, we have a large staff. He is my second husband. My first husband died of melanoma - so I have seen cancer from both sides, caretaker and patient. Neither are great! Our church does an online service and now we also do an open air one on our grounds. We all wear masks, at least until we are settled in our place, and we social distance, of course. So whoever is doing the sermon needs to do it twice - once for video and once *live.* it isn't so bad , before the lockdown we did three services. but, being outside in the heat IS bad. I was worried for Steve, but he was fine.
This is one reason why I am kind of sensitive to Pauline. She is older (actually...I'M older too!), and very dedicated to her faith. I don't agree with the extremes she sometimes employs, but I do understand her and I feel a little protective of her. I will post an answer on the original question site later, but I just wanted to share the personal stuff with you. I don't usually speak of my husband's profession because not everyone feels comfortable with it, and I honestly understand.0July 2020 -
