Sounds like the both of you have a great sense of humor!! I am in awe of that. Keep up the fight. My son just finished his second full round of chemo and is in hospital today getting rehydrated and is already feeling better since getting his nausea meds and IV liquids.

Drinking beer, especially Green beer, should help his prognosis immensely! At least it will feel that way for awhile! ;-)

Hey Jenny, I recently completed chemo for stage III testicular cancer. I had no cancer in either testicle. Chemo was my only option. Like your husband, they had to biopsy a 10 CM tumor in my abdomen. I also had a couple of tumors in my chest. The chemo they want to give him that's hard on his lungs is Bleomycin. The other two chemo’s he will receive are Etoposide and Cisplatin. I'm curious though, did they determine that the cancer has spread into his lungs? I didn't see anything in his journey that you listed below that would indicate this. Also, have other organs been ruled out? Bleomycin is one of those chemo’s that are not necessary to treat testicular cancer especially if there is no cancer in his lungs. I would speak with your Oncologist about eliminating this one if at all possible. This is one chemo I didn't receive for the reason stated about, there was no cancer in my lungs. My Oncologist made the decision to eliminate this. He has a rough road ahead of him but his cancer is curable. I'd be happy to answer any question you might have. Feel free to contact me if you would like my e-mail address as well.

    Jenny,
Thank you for sharing clear info. One of the first things you'll want to do is to save his sperm. He might want to be a father again.
The Pulmonary Function Tests reference made me sit up and pay attention. I used to have terrific lung capacity. I ran track in high school. I was given Bleomycin which seared the inside of my lungs. I have enough lung capacity for everyday activities. I continue to push my athletic activities, and when I do I am reminded that my lungs don't open and expand like God intended them to. If possible, use another drug that has similar outcomes, and stay away from Bleomycin if you can.
    Odds are he'll be fine.
    I'll be praying for him.
