flskipper, welcome. My daughter also found this site for me and I too am really not familiar wth a computer. You have had quite a ride with your misdiagnosis, insurance problems and Taxol reaction. After my first Taxol treatment ended up in the hospital for a week with daily fevers. They gave me plenty of tests and exams ,never did find a reason .Finally stated it was tumor fever,a reaction caused by the tumors to the Taxol.I was diagnosed as IIIC because my CT scan had shown multiple abdominal tumors largest of which was the size of an orange.Had chemo of Taxol and Carboplatin before my debulking surgery and four more rounds of Taxol and Cisplatin afterwards, no radiation. My chemo was given through chest and abdominal ports.I did have fatigue set in after second round of chemo and experienced terrible constipation.Taxol and especially Carboplatin and Cisplatin are notorious for this,so would take Colace,a stool softener two days prior to and for three or four days after treatments. be sure you drink plenty of fluids? There was a brief period where food had no taste and certain smells would set off nausea.Hopefully your next treatment will go smoother now that they know about your sensivety to Taxol.Great you have a loving daughter who clearly is looking out for you . a strong support system is so important? Many of us are also on anti-depressants.I have been on one for the past seven months and it has really helped. I traveled two and a half hours to my gyn onc because there wasn't one in our town. if you can have someone drive you to and from your treatments because you do not know what side effects to expect as you go along, fatigue will be there for sure? Lost my hair and was weepy and sad at first but learned to do without?Took the brush out of my purse and had more room for STUFF:). Wore hats but scarves, wigs or au natural are all good. didn't have to shave my legs either. Because I had no eyelashes or nasel hair kept a Kleenex always handy. The people on this site along with my loved ones gave me the strength to see my chemo through.T hey all said it is DOABLE and it was? I have been in remission almost two months and busy trying to adjust to life after chemo. My hair, eyelashes and leg and nasel hairs are all growing back.Almost time to put that brush back into my purse.Take care, talk anytime. We are all here for each other.
