Welcome to the site. I am sure that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need someone to talk to. We are all in the same boat when it comes to emotions and feelings about our health. Just know that no question is to silly to ask and if you need to vent because you are having a bad day, we are here for you. I hope you find this site as helpful to you as it has been for me.0November 2014

Three years ago or so I was in Georgia with my son and we hiked in to a hostel sort of place at Amicalola Falls State Park. That was so fun. Slept in bunks and all ate together like church camp. We stayed the night before at the regular lodge there which was nice, too, with a touch of rustic. The southern start of the Appalachian Trail is close by. I've always liked reading about hiking the trail. Hiking, especially with a pack seems like torture. We had our little hike in to our hostel...about three hours in...very hilly. Just two hours to come out for some reason. Anyway, I thought I'd tell you about my Georgia experience! Such a good memory. I'm glad you got such a nice long visit with your friend. I live in a rural part of Ohio, no cities nearby. When my diagnosis got around in Feb. of 2013, old school classmates and such really made me feel great with their concern. And a couple from further away like your friend in Georgia.0September 2014

I've been on letrozole for 16 months for metastatic breast cancer. I have some side effects, but tolerable considering my cancer isn't growing or spreading. My mother also had dementia and stayed at home with our help the last few years of her life. She died in 2012. So I understand your situation perhaps. Would you and your mother like to do exercise on DVD? Can't do aqua-aerobics that way, I'm afraid, but I like Tai Chi for Arthritis and the list is endless. I tried DVDs from the library first. Then bought my favorite. Sweating like crazy? There are some health benefits to that! My leg pains seem to improve with exercise. Good luck. I turn 61 next month!0September 2014

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
