    Hi deSmile,
Read your post that Aruba was great. Always so great when we go there every year. I had my ct scan on August 25 and it was clean. However, my ca19-9 was 9 in February and jumped to 33 when I had scan. I have my blood done at another lab every 3 months to check and it was done 15 days before ct scan and it was only 7 and when sloan did it jumped 24 points. My oncologist says not to be concerned because they look at the cat scan but to be safe, I am having my tumor marker done in 4 weeks.

Wondering how you are feeling? How often are you going for chemo and what hospital are you at? I see here you are stage 11b how many nodes were positive?
Stay strong there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will celebrate 4 years from diagnosis in April and feel good most days. Hope to hear from you.

Hi deSmile, I must have missed you when you first joined WhatNext in Dec. 2013. In any case a late welcome to WhatNext. I too live in New Jersey...Mays Landing. About 12 miles outside of Atlantic City. I myself am a 13 year+ stage IV adenosquamous carcinoma pancreatic cancer survivor. I also communicate with Janet2021 via our home emails. Since the 3 of us live in NJ maybe we can meet sometime at a place that would be easy and somewhat central to the 3 of us. What do you think? If you want to communicate with Janet and I using your home email address just let Greg know that you wish for him to give me your email address. Take care and my best to you,
    Russ

I am leaving for Aruba next Thursday to celebrate my 3 whippleversay there. Where did your husband have his surgery? Mine was at Sloan in NYC. If I can help him out in any way as far as what to expect from the chemo please let me know.

re: digestion problems. Is you partner pancreatic enzymes? My husband takes several (4) Creon 12,000 unit capsules with each meal. The dosage is user dependent. Some need only one or two, some need 12 caps per meal. experiment with the dose that makes your spouse digest food easiest. (PS: he was onkly taking 3 per meal and had problems and with the additioof that extra cap is doing much better)

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/pancreatic-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
